Re: mattpatterson1@mac.com – It was basicly a draw. Obama is much more eloquent with his posture and manerisms and a smoother speaker and, of course, younger and in better shape. So he will come across as more "presidential". But if you are bright enough and really pay attention, it is painfully obvious he doesn't know what he is talking about. His responses were canned and highly rehearsed. McCain shot from the hip, appeared a little feeble, wasn't as smooth and flowing as Obama, but he clearly knew exactly what he was talking about.

There have only been unproven accusations against Barack Obama for dishonesty. John McCain has been full on corrupt for many many years. He was even found by an Ethics Committee to have "used poor judgment" in the criminal case of Charles Keating. So, I don't understand why you can't understand, that people of common sense are intolerant of those who are defending that way of administration of country.

I think you hit the nail right on the head with the word "desperate". In fact, I was doing some poking around the internet, and I came across that material that claims that John McCain's ancestors were "slave-owners" in the "Civil War" era. Clearly, "War" and "racism" [viewing blacks as lesser than whites] are primary influences that would have flowed through the McCain generations. It would be "ingrained" as "their American family history".
