Illusionist's Criss Angel's much-hyped and long-awaited Crique du Soleil show, which cost a reported $85 million to put on, debuted this weekend at the Luxor in Las Vegas.
The verdict???
According to many many audience members, it was awful!
Well, hopefully they can fix that shit ASAP.
Cirque sources tell us that the show had a "soft opening" and is in previews for the next 5 weeks.
So, the show people are seeing now may not be the finished product!

this picture he looks so hot!! okay now down to business. This would not surprise me. first blane sucked hard core with a stupid stunt that got nowhere, and now Angel, the audience won't be as enthralled with him on a live show because they are now too use to the edited works of his show "mind Freak" its easier to do "slight of hand on film" and do it from all angels of him because as a magician myself, he would be able to have those in the shot sign release forms that state anything they saw on how it was done would be held in confidence as to not disapoint those who are mystified. so to have him do a live performance and not choosing very carefully what he will perform, i think its asking for trouble and asking for people to be miffed and thing WTF. but on a high note. i care not what he does all he has to do is show up. he truly is a greek god. yummie.

I was recently in Vegas and was told by a concierge at the Bellagio that this show had already had the opening pushed back three times. So I am sure it is not finished.
Oh hell no, they need to get their show together before they start losing a lot of money.

I was in Vegas for a week and I was at the opening show Friday night. We had good seats. All I know is that he did all the basic tricks they all do..saw in half… birds out of coat (yes coat…not just a t-shirt like he does on tv)…trap door holes were in the floor..he did fly upsidedown over me and my friend and got out of a straight jacket but that was about it. He did trick us in the beginning by pretending he was going to take a potato with him into this giant cage of electricity but than he didn't actually go in it? Kind of weird…and yes he did "sing" at the end lol. The Cirque costumes were cool but all they did was dance..no crazy flips like cirque is capable of…I thought the show was medicore at best and my friend HATED it…poor Chris had a reputation to keep up….not even 1/10 as cool as his tv show (and I dunno if anyone on here has seem him do live tricks for his TV show in Vegas but I haven't…were they any good live?)

Re: alana86 – Up until the Luxor show, Criss has NEVER sold one ticket in Las Vegas before. ANd looking at the ticket sales numbers after this show opened, it does not look as if he is sell very many any more. His boasting he sold $5 million in pre-show was a flat out lie. I work for the MGM/Mirage have have access to the numbers. The only LIVE show Criss ever had was in New York City, in the basement of the World Wrestling Federation gift shop on Broadway. That is how Criss can boast he had a successful Broadway show. He took a second mortgage on his mothers house and rented the space from the WWF. Great way to take advantage of his mothers frail state of mind immediately after his father passed away, mortgage her house!
