Katie Holmes Bringing in the $$
Filed under: Broadway Babies > Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes made her Broadway debut earlier this month in the production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
And, despite early buzz that she wasn't a draw, seems like Mrs. Cruise is helping the show sell tickets - and lots of them!
Last week, her show was the highest-grossing play on Broadway.
It earned $684,002 for its first full week of eight preview performances. And, it played to a theater nearly 98% sold out. The Schoenfeld has a capacity of 1,052.
All My Sons will officially open on October 16th, though it's being doing pretty well so far in previews.
It has a top ticket price of $116.50, along with some premium tickets selling for $300 for certain performances.
So will Katie's good streak in Broadway survive or will the buzz die down as will her ticket sales?
Would U pay $116.50 to see Katie?

No one is paying that much money to see Katie-bot. There are, you know, other actors in this play that I WOULD pay $116 to see.
yes! i would. i love her! go Joey Potter!
I wouldn't walk across the street to see her for free.
xoxo, Isa
Having seen this show last week, there is no reason the buzz should die down.
It is a riveting play from the first moment till the last. A brilliant production with an equally brilliant cast including John Lithgow, Dianne Weist, Patrick Wilson and Katie.
you couldn't pay ME to see Katie.
yes i would
no way! i wouldn't even wait on the sidewalk to see her for free!!
I think I would buy tickets!
Is there going to be parking available for space ships?
she looks like a hooker that nobody wants
Re: karencarpenter –
LMAO! I was thinking the same thing.
Stirrup tights are only 15 bucks a pair Katie, don't be such a scrooge.
HELL NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ! ! ! ! !
i bet its the scientologists buying up tickets, they love spinning the truth
The producers got it right. The media circus surrounding Mrs. Tom Cruise might be bringing in people, but it's JOHN LITHGOW AND DIANE WIEST WHO ARE THE STARS OF THIS PLAY. THEY ARE THE PROFESSIONALS, NOT KATIE. IF SHE'S HELPING TO SELL TICKETS, GOOD FOR HER AND THE PLAY, BUT IT IS NOT HER PLAY. OF COURSE, PEREZ WOULDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS SINCE HE DOESN'T RESEARCH HIS STORIES, BUT IT'S AN INSULT TO THIS ARTICLE IS AN INSULT TO THE TRUE ACTORS IN THIS PLAY.
Is she wearing stirrup leggings? How unfashionably odd.
Apparently people will pay way more than that! Charitybuzz.com's online auction for tickets to the show and a meet & greet is almost at $2,000! I guess a lot of people will spend money to spend time with her after the show. Atleast the money is going to Tony Bennetts amazing charity.
I would pay for the OTHER ACTORS not for this … "thing" actually they should pay the audience for tolerating her on stage.
The only way I would see her show is if I could get a ticket at the TKTS booth for half off.
TICKET SALES ARE UP BUT THE THEATER IS EMPTY???? I WONDER WHO IS BUYING THOSE TICKETS????? HUMMMMMMMMMMM……..
Perhaps.
You're being an ill-informed idiot once again, Perez. For some reason you're ignoring the fact that the play also stars some of the greatest living theatre actors, in John Lithgow and Dianne Weist, and Patrick Wilson, who only seems destined for similarly auspicious circles. It's not too much of a stretch of the imagination to believe that there are a lot of people who would pay a hell of a lot more than $116 to see that cast. You're just being a complete celeb-fucker as per usual. Why don't you try writing about things that matter.
Yes, there no place like Broadway!
no
She is so homely lookin!!!
That girl needs some serious help!!

her sorry performance must be seen to be believed:
