My boyfriend's parents and half of his whole family are JW's. Some weiiird people. And no, they do not celebrate any holidays, support drinking, voting or even team sports because they dont want to promote that anyone is better than anyone else. It's all bullshit. I feel bad for my man having to grow up and never have any birthdays to celebrate or christmas or anything fun. So i try and make it as special for every holiday for him now (obviously he isnt a jw…not since he started highschool and made the choice to leave)
and he's fucking proud of it…. no wonder why americans have bush as a president if a person, as influent as she can be, promotes this kind of attitude…. even though i love u guys, im really happy to be french right now!!!!

Some of you people are so completely ignorant…. Raised as a JW myself, there are indeed a lot of restrictions put on you. They do not vote, because they feel that one day God's kingdom will come to rule over the world, and imperfect humans cannot change all the awful things in this world anyways. They do not celebrate holidays because these holidays were made to be pagan celebrations which really have nothing to do with religion. Jehovah's witnesses have no problem with drinking in moderation, singing, dancing… They do not believe that sinners are going to hell. There is no JW belief against acting or performing either. Oh and you'll notice, voting is often called "the right to vote". Not "the requirement". You can all practice that right if you want to. But its not any of your business if anyone else does.

All JW's are assholes.except from not celebrating birthdays(I didn't know that) or holidays,they also don't join the army(at least here in Greece) and of course they don't fast and they don't receive the Holy Communion.
JW's also are not supposed to date until they are ready for marraige…but obviously he isn't to worried about that is he. I have a friend that was "disfellowshiped" and disowned from her family because she was dating a "worldy" person. I highly doubt those girls are JW's. If you wanna preach about one aspect of your religion, you better follow the rest as well.
