A Worthwhile Cause

"CCC (Care. Commit. Change.) is the premier source of financial information for college-bound cancer survivors. We are a comprehensive, accurate and positive community dedicated to improving the quality of life for young adult cancer survivors. We strive for an evolved community in which people and financial resources are united to give education and opportunity to young adult cancer survivors.

Our Mission
Every cancer survivor deserves the chance to receive a college education. Yet the burden of mounting medical debt, side effects of treatment, and limited access to financial resources leaves many young adult cancer survivors with little hope of attending college. CCC is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for young adult cancer survivors through two initiatives:

• An annual college scholarship program that recognizes survivors who demonstrate leadership, commitment to education, and betterment of their community.

• An online support network that connects survivors and provides a comprehensive database of financial resources for higher education."

Re: TEAM PEREZ – I agree, we need more attention paid to young adult cancer survivors. We have unique issues to deal with and Komen doesn't cut it! CCC looks like an awesome organization that gets what we need. You should also check out www.i2y.com
Thanks for posting Perez! I'm stoked to have someone like you with so much exposure shedding light on young adult cancer issues, we need it!

Thank you Perez for giving this issue the limelight of your webpage.

BUT… did you know that more people care about signing a petition to get Ashley Simpson booted from the music industry…then a petition advocating for rights of young adult cancer survivors?????

We all know entertainment issues are captivating… but I hope you agree that this is something to freak out over. Sign petitions that mean something.

And Perez— check out I'm Too Young For This…it's THE place to be for young adults affected by cancer. STUPID CANCER, that is!

No thanks. I have all my extra funds earmarked for MY child's College education….which I have been saving for, since the day that I found out I was pregnant. You can't tell me that EVERY college bound cancer survivor has no family or can not apply for a College loan.

Yay for bringing to light a very important issue. I am 27 and a THREE time cancer survivor. There are many cancer organizations out there, but I haven't found any that amount to the amazing networking, fun, irreverence and attitude that "I'm Too Young for This" does. Check it out- we do Stupid Cancer Happy Hours, provide resourced for young adult survivors and so much more. Check it out! www.i2y.org
