First Superman Gets A Teen Drama, And Now Robin Does Too!
So listen to this….
A young acrobat who performs as part of a family act called The Flying Graysons is orphaned when a mobster sabotages the family trapeze, killing his parents in a horrible accident. Bruce Wayne comes along and takes the boy under his wing, and thus Robin is born.
Sound interesting?
The CW hopes so because Variety is reporting that the network plans on replacing Smallville with The Graysons should the Superman teen drama come to a conclusion this season. If Smallville stays, then the Robin prequel will serve as a companion piece.
The name of the spinoff show comes from Robin's true identity - Dick "DJ" Grayson.
Smallville executive producers Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson, as well as Supernatural executive producer McG are slated to work on the new Warner Bros. TV endeavor.
The project demonstrates Warner Brothers' continued support of the CW, which also hosts Gossip Girl and 90210 2.0.
Following in Smallville's footsteps, The Graysons will revolve around DJ's life as he deals with family, friends, and foes.

Growing up, Dick Grayson as Robin was always my fave comic book character and later Nightwing. I am excited as long as they do a good job casting.

Who the eff is DJ? I've never, ever heard of Dick Greyson being called DJ in any of the Batverse comics I've read. also, if they were going to pick a robin to do an origins story on, would Jason Todd have been a better choice? He's canonically emo and there's a tragic end built right into the story!!
No, that sounds dumb. Who cares about powerless robin? This isnt the last season of Smallville so they should just can this idea.

soooo the show is going to be about what - a circus act? you've got to be kidding me here. the graysons where not super spies pretending to be a circus act or anything. they where just acrobats - how the hell are they gonna make a series about them? ughhh insta flop.

After the monster hits of Batman Begins and Dark Knight, they want to give us this? They had a Bruce Wayne Year One show that never got made. They should really consider doing that. The only way this would work is if they make Teen Titans. They already have some of those characters on Smallville. Either way, lets hope if they do make it that Batman will pop in from time to time. But that would still suck . We want Batman, not Robin!
