As a music educator having concentrated on flute, I have to say she must have had zero talent when it comes to anything else if she were desperate enough to perform that. You can't classify that as a talent when a Middle school student could potentially play that. Sad.

She thought that was talent? The definition must have been different back then. I'm a music major and I can tell you that what she just played was mediocre AT BEST. Learn how to tune, sweetheart. I know it's cold in Alaska, but you can adjust, you don't have to be out of tune quite so much.

As a long time flautist - that was a pretty crappy performance. It was a very easy song and she was out of tune, played wrong notes and her tone wasn't too good. Any good kid in 7th grade could play that better.

It took her 10 years to play that badly? I played the flute in high school and college, and can say that was not very good. Her sound is too airy, the tuning is off (as in off key) and she clearly must not have practiced much in those 10 years … she sounds like a middle schooler.
Guess they don't offer instrument lessons in Alaska …
