Bailout To Give Money To Movies Shot In America

It looks like Hollywood might get a piece of the bailout pie!
In the now bloated 700 billion dollar bailout package shoving upstream through Congress, the film industry could receive up to $470 million in tax breaks to shoot at home in the United States. With that much money you could make approximately…4 average-sized Hollywood flicks.
Just like every other major United States industry, the film industry has been going beyond the borders to make movies for less money, accounting for the loss of many industry jobs in the States and especially in Southern California.
The tax cut would be similar to the cuts that big manufacturing companies would receive. Additionally, films that shoot in the US would be rewarded with larger tax breaks.
That's good, but we just wish they'd concentrate on the big problem instead of losing focus in appeasing certain parties!

why not just let the banks who fucked up eat it, and the ones who didn't go on as normal? fuck the bailout, it's a bullshit waste of my fucking tax dollars - that they shouldn't be taking in the first place. i worked for that money, i should be able to keep it instead of some baby momma getting it every month. if it went for what it's supposed to, i'd be fine with it, but between all these assholes on welfare and the war we're not gonna win, i'd rather keep it.

52 top economists in this country said that the gov. should NOT bail out the banks. after the crash of '29, the gov. and hoover kept trying to ”fix” Wall Street. They fixed it so well that the depression lasted over a decade. the congress helped screw up the banking industry with this subprime mortgage crap for people who could not afford houses. Thank your congressman-ALL OF THEM!!!! A grassroot group must be started to end this adding of lines to a bill to appease certain senators/congressman. You can blame the ones getting the money-like the alaskan bridge to nowhere. The states would be stupid to turn down the money-it has to stop at the top. Lord, $470 million in tax breaks-are there really going to be enough new jobs to make up the $470million????????

Hollywood should cut a-list actors gigantic salaries just like wall street should cut the Ceo's gigantic salaries. All this excess cuts profits. I'm all for making big money, but how much money do these people need???
I'm a Libertarian and hope the bill doesn't pass. We are in this mess because both dems and republicans changed the loan laws. This is just the market correcting itself. We need to get both parties out of Congress and vote for people who actually put people over party. Hollywood shouldn't get any money.
I do not want the government to tell me what doctor to go to. The health plan is a bad idea. Think about it.. The government screwed our economy, just think what they would do if they managed a health plan. McCain's stance on state competition would lower the cost considerably.
w/e for Hollywood…there are more important things than just making movies…
