Is Jodie Foster really that old?
The actress is turning 46 this November and she's already being spotted wearing a hearing aid.
Foster was photographed on Wednesday shopping for furniture in West Hollywood with a hearing aid in her left ear, not so hidden behind her hair.
She was casually sipping her iced coffee as she shopped at DAO Design Around Objects.
Who knew Foster even had problems hearing?????
Is she really just getting old or did she have some sort of accident?

Since when does wearing a hearing aid or losing your hearing mean you are getting old? My dad lost his hearing around the age of 10 and my uncle lost his as a teen…both for totally different reasons! Many things can cause hearing loss such as illnesses, loud noise, etc. Stop spewing shit from your mouth that you don't know about.

The hearing aid is just the little thing in her ear - the sunglass legs are what's behin her ear. She's a rich celebrity, she wouldn't get the big bulky kind! And I agree with #28 Newfiechic - I have lost hearing and I'm only 36 - it started 2 years ago. My hearing loss is due to grinding teeth and elevation changes since I moved to Colorado from Illinois. No, it's not just an old thing or a result of an accident.

First off, you don't have to be "old" to be hearing impaired. I have hearing loss since about 8 years old due to recurrent ear infections.
Second, a hearing aid actually goes in your ear. There is nothing in her ear. Most hearing airs are teeny tiny and are flesh colored. They are difficult to see and are not the "over the ear" type any more.
He's talking about the hearing aid inside of her ear….obviously her singlasses are behind her ear….god, you people are idiots!

Hearing loss can occur at any age, and kudos to Jodie Foster for being proactive in stopping the hearing loss from advancing. Stop being such a stereotypical asshole and maybe you would realize that no one is perfect (look at yourself, for instance).

She's actually being quite smart. If hearing loss is augmented with a hearing aid early on, it will help prevent further hearing loss.
It is important that if you start experiencing hearing loss, even a little bit, to get it taken care of. If you let it go, it gets worse and becomes permanent.

Age is not always the reason for needing a hearing aid you dumbass. There are little children running around wearing them. For all we know Jodie could require one for a degenerative congenital condition or a virus she contracted that left her with a hearing loss. There are a number of reasons for needing a hearing aid that have nothing to do with aging. Jeez, sometimes your ignorance is stunning, Perez.

I am a faithful reader of your website, but am currently outraged at your suggestion of Jodie Foster being old because she wears a hearing aid. People like you make wearing a hearing aid a big deal. I am currently working on my doctorate degree to become an Audiologist, and want to help people hear better. Currently, I work at a Children's hospital and spend my life helping children with hearing loss accept their hearing loss. Just because you have a hearing problem, doesn't mean your old, it means that you have a hearing problem, you realize it and you want to use a device to help yourself. It's hard to get teenagers and younger adults to accept hearing aids if people like you make them feel old.

Yes, they have hearing aides for that. I met a lady in a medical building and she showed me her's. Those are expensive at 3,000.00 to start!
So, she is not getting older just some of her hearing is impaired due to loud noise! It can happen to anyone.

Lots of kids are destroying their hearing by using LOUD headphones. Loud noise destroys the inner ear and cannot be fixed by hearing aids or surgery.
I had a middle ear problem and lost all hearing in one ear for a year! No fun folks. Surgery restored 70% and life is much nicer. PROTECT your hearing.
I love Jodie Foster! She's not that old she just has a few hearing problems. What's cool about her is unlike all the other hollywood actresses she allows herself to age naturally, no botox or plastic surgery that shallow Nicole Kidman. Jodie just doesnt care about all that stuff. And she's one of our best and most iconic actresses, I just wish she would do better films lately because she's so talented. She handles herself with class and privacy in public and refuses to feed into the stupid paparazzi no matter how hard they try to get her to play their game and write stuff. I'm going to have to agree with PhillyTerp. I too am getting my doctorate in Audiology and it's kinda really disappointing that you make such a negative statement about a hearing aid. So how is it different than glasses? It's not. She obviously has some hearing impairment, and she is comfortable and confident enough with herself that she chooses to wear a hearing aid to help her. It takes a lot of work to get people to reach that level of confidence, esp. young people. By playing such a prominent role in the media today, I would expect more from you

Actually Jodie has been wearing a hearing aid since 1998. She had some kind of illness that resulted in hearing loss.
