Reunited and it Feels So Gritty!
Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese are teaming up again for another flick that is sure to involve violence and a lot of yelling.
The film is about mob hitman Frank "the Irishman" Sheeran. De Niro won't be playing him.
Just kidding!
Of course he is!
The film is being adapted from Charles Brandt's book - I Heard You Paint Houses - by Steve Zaillian, who wrote Schindler's List and American Gangster. The phrase "I heard you paint houses" refers to the bloody mess left after a a good old mob slaying.
Based on an alleged confession from Sheeran, Brandt's book is about the murder and dismemberment (Ewww!) of Teamster union leader Jimmy Hoffa at the direction of mob leader Russell Bufalino. Hoffa was notorious for his mob connections, spending 15 years in jail in 1964 for attempted bribery of a grand juror.
The film easily follows in the footsteps of De Niro's and Scoresese's previous collaborations, such as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and Goodfellas.

GOT GOT GGGGGOOOOOTTTT IT
fresh
seems to me they are just grasping at what they had in the past but I'm afraid they don't have it anymore because back then they actually cared about the work and didn't have the money they have now. I don't know whats up with De Niro lately, he just doesn't care, has become egotistical and just wants money. If he has that attitude there's no way to capture the glory of the old collaborations with Marty. But if he is prepared to finally give an actual performance and Scorsese provides great direction, count me in.
i'm so grrrrr
you gonna check me out?

Re: wanna milk me?? – do all the kids suck from your teats for snack?
oh jesus…ya know, after a string of REALLY bad movies (meet the parents, hide and seek..) AND donning a fruity pirate outfit, De Niro has lost all credibility. I'm sorry, but playing any kind of tough guy rule is ruined for me, and he should just retire already!
Re: mamajud – good way!!….back in the days before the pc police took over and sped was just a word, and we were all too ignorant to realize we were being assholes……..i'm not kidding, i thought the short bus' official name was the sped bus…..oh to be young & stupid again

Re: wanna milk me?? – De Niro is 65 years old! I'd like to see what you look like at that point… but I'm gonna take a stab at it, SON! How about a cross between a mon chi chi and Yoda on crack!!
It's shame that there doesn't seem to be an original idea when it comes to these two. Yawn.
i love mob movies! this one looks decent, i plan to see it.
Deniro rules!
This isn't msn you fucking homo's. read the blog entry, comment on it, then get the fuck out.
Schindler's List was originally a book titled Schindler's Ark written by the famous Australian author Thomas Keneally. The script writer is hardly that important since he wrote from the book. You make it sound as if it was his own original work which is it is not.
