While I agree that at times PETA does make an odd ball move, I don't have a problem with this one. They are not making fun of the Olsens so much as trying to make a point. PETA stands for something, if your not sure what that something is, look it up. Supporting the fur industry is hardly what anyone can call 'ethical,' and if your not sure what that consists of, I suggest you look it up as well.

PETA is their own worst enemies. I'm an animal rights advocate but PETA makes me sick.
They tried to exploit the death of Canadian Tim McLean who was beheaded earlier this year but putting ads in Canadian newspapers making mention of that and comparing it to how animals feel. They were rejected.
I agree that animal cruelty may be compared to that, but when you show no tact, and show no thought to a family who is grieving it's just disgusting.
When they attacked Michael Moore over his "Sicko" doc by saying that perhaps he wouldn't need as much health care if he ate better and wasn't so fat, I was apalled.
When I'm given "surveys" in the mail that turn out to be nothing more than a guilt trip to send money to them, I'm apalled.
This isn't so badas the above, but it's certainly not doing anything for their image. This junior high/ circus act nonsense does not promote positive education towards cruelty free lifestyles. Pamela Anderson is a great voice for that positivity, so perhaps someone could convince her to speak to PETA about being more People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and less People known for being Exceptionally Tactless Assholes.

I'd rather put animal rights at the same level of human rights. We hem and haw about putting murderers to death, but animals get killed by the thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) every day. Just so we can eat meat and wear their fur. I don't have a problem with eating meat, I do eat meat. But I don't think animals should be abuse or treated poorly while they are alive. And they should be killed humanely, quick and painless. No living person or animal deserves to suffer. I don't always agree with PETA, but come on, you can get fake fur that looks and feels the same as the real stuff. HAVING to get the real thing is ridiculous and self-centered.

Re: SugarStarzKill – Fake fur is made with petroleum derivates and doesn't biodegrade. In the long run it's even more harmful to animals than getting real fur from a certified humane fur farm. I love how people are unable to look past the propaganda. It's not all black and all white!

Re: Aequa – A certified humane fur farm? What is humane about dying? Humans are animals. Non human animals share a very similar central nervous system to ours and are sentient beings. When there are so many other materials out there, wearing fur is just ridiculous. I'm happy with my own skin. I don't need to parade the skin of a creature more beautiful and pure than myself to make myself feel better.
Meat is a joke. The human body does not require meat to survive. Let's face it. Meat eaters eat meat because they couldn't careless about the suffering of others.

A steak takes on average 48 hours to digest while vegetables and nuts take 4. Also, I have black hair. Just because I do, I do not think that everyone else in the world has black hair.

i am a vegetarian and i dont wear fur. i dont like peta because they make people like me look crazy. i also dont like some of the videos they have on their site, i know they are trying to shock people into not wearing fur but i got traumatized by one video of a raccoon being skinned alive. they should have some type of warning on those videos. i think that petas reaction towards animal cruelty is understandable, i get furious when i think about what goes on in those fur farms etc. but they should be more tactical about it, otherwise they just end up getting laughed at and considered a joke.

PETA is so retarded. What if the fur they are using came from animals that were harvested for their meat also (doubt it, but just throwing that out there)? Yeah it's stupid to just kill the animal and then throw out the rest of the carcass. As long as the meat goes to say a kitchen for the homeless, like what Ted Nugent does, then why not? I have a coat made out of deer hide, but it was from a deer that was killed for the meat too. Plus those fuzzy little animals can be so tasty….

they're hypocrites because Mary Beth Sweetland (the PETA vice president) uses an animal based insulin- even though synthetic, animal free alternatives are readily available and - in most cases- preferred by doctors.
they're terrorists for many reasons but the MAIN reason that comes to mind is they gave wackjob/pseudo cult leader/spokesperson for the Animal Liberation Front Rob Coronado a shit ton of financial support for his "cause". he took that money and used it to blow up a fucking warehouse - seriously - he's a convicted arsonist. He claims to support only property destruction, not attacks on people. But now he has openly endorsed the "Revolutionary Cells," whose bombings clearly targeted people, not just inanimate objects. In September, the Revolutionary Cells set off a ten-pound nail bomb outside targeted company.
This is the type of person Ingird (the PETA president) calls "a fine young man" and grants thousands of dollars to.
