A friend tells the UK's News of the World that Courtney Love went under the knife to melt the pounds.

The 'friend' says:
"Courtney has always had problems with her appearance and is convinced she is ugly and fat. Two years ago she had a gastric band fitted at a surgery in Beverly Hills. Lots of doctors refused to do it as she was nowhere near obese, just a little overweight, but eventually she found one. And as soon as she had the operation the excess weight started to drop off her. Now she is just skin and bones and looks terrible."
The 'friend' also added that the rocker 'laughs' at us all who've believed her diet lies.

That's so sad. She probably isn't aware of the serious implications of gastric bypass and the associated health risks. Gastric bypass is a very dangerous procedure and shouldn't be done trivially. Shame on the doctor who gave in and did it. Too bad his greed over took his ethics. That's one of the problems we have with doctors now a days…
A friend of mine recently died, after years of health problems resulting from a gastric bypass. It is NOT a quick fix, and shouldn't be undertaken lightly.

i really dont think it;s true. take it from someone who has had lap band surgery. A few months ago there were bikini pics of her and she had no scars that i could notice??? I have 5 scars on my tummy and 1 of them is quite long. I doubt she had it.
