Disney's chihuahuas knocked Shia from the top movie perch over the weekend.
Beverly Hills Chihuahuais this weekend's #1 movie in the U.S. Early reports say that the family crews helped the film bring in $29 million.
For such a stupid movie!
The Shia LaBeouf-starring movie Eagle Eye came in at #2 in its second week out. It made about $18 million.
Rounding out the top three is the Michael Cera hipster, teen, rom-com flick Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist with $11.6 million in ticket sales.

And lets hope Kirsten Drunst doesn't turn back to whatever sent her to rehab. Her new film, How To Alienate Friends Or Whatever That Title Is, opened in wide release this weekend and played to pretty much empty theaters.

Myself and my husband took our 7 year old to watch this on Friday and it was surprisingly cute. My husband was even laughing at the movie. I was surprised that there were a lot of people there, the theater was packed. I recommend this movie to any parent that wants a family night out. (Especially with fall break here or around the corner)

Eagle Eye is a horrible film!!! It's a simple rip-off of Die Hard 4, War Games and Enemy of The State put together is a blender…but not as good as any of those films, not even close!!!!!

That friggin chihuahua movie will be nothing but trouble for those of us who do chihuahua rescue. People actually buy chihuahuas thinking they can talk. When they don't-the dog goes to the pound and we get called. Paris Hilton, Taco bell, now this. I actually complained to Disney whn I heard about this movie. Jerks.

maybe if they actually promoted the Dunst movie people would go see it. i have seen only one tv commercial and it aired yesterday! i had no idea the film was out, but that fucking mexican rat movie has commercials every 3 minutes on all channels, so i sure knew about it. and i sure don't want to see it.

Katfish, you are so right!!!! Remember the horror stories after the live action Dalmations' movie came out? Shelters and rescues will fill up, and you will see more Chihuahua strays. How sad that parents can't say no to their kids when it comes to a living, breathing creature!!!
A good movie is not measured by how many people paid to see it in theatres (unless you are one of the few non-discriminating fools who go based upon sales - and BTW, that doesn't make you a movie buff, it makes you a person very susceptible to marketing). A good movie is measured by quality, the script, the calibre of acting. In your attempt to portray everything as a flop which didn't kill at the box office you are displaying a callus disregard for those amazing indie and underground directors (Gus Van Sant, Greg Araki, Agnes Vardas, Rolf de Heer) who put of quality, quirky and wholly imaginative movies.
Shame on you for not knowing the difference. And worse, for knowing and not caring.

Actually, i heard that "Eagle Eye" was really good! Beverly Hills Chihuahua was "ehh…" But i guess more kids went to the movie this weekend for it.
I remember Shia from the Even Stevens days. That show is still played here in the school holidays incidentally. I don't think he's a good actor though. He's sometimes too OTT.
The main attraction in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People is Simon Pegg, the film will do so much better in the UK. Mind you, the US loved Batman but it did badly here, so How to Lose Friends will probably do better here than it did over yonder. And the Chihuahua movie…yeah, forget it.
No desire to see this movie! lol
