Depp Hearts Little Britain

The following news left us scratching our head because we think that the American version isn't as good as the Brit version.
Johnny Depp apparently loved the season opener for the new HBO series Little Britain USA so much that he's begged the show creator and series star Matt Lucas for a role in the movie version.
We should also mention that Lucas and hot Johnny are co-stars in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.
The pair are reportedly filming scenes for the movie in LA now and they've supposedly become good pals.
A set snitch told the UK's Mirror, "Johnny was laying it on thick saying how much he enjoyed the first episode of the series. He said he would do anything to have a part in the movie."
Johnny would be the best part of the movie, no doubt.
We're excited to hear that Daddy Depp is in town, though.
Maybe we'll run into him!

I guess Johnny is playing The Mad Hatter in the new version of "Alice in Wonderland"…? We know already that Matt Lucas is playing both Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, so I wonder who is playing Alice? Helena Bonham Carter (Mrs. Tim Burton) must be the Queen Of Hearts. I can't wait!

First of all, Little Britain is the best thing to come out of the UK since ABFAB. Vicky Pollard is one of Lucas' characters. Secondly, this is not new. This has been out there for at least 2 months. I am a huge Burton fan and any fan worth there weight in dark obscurity would know this. The character of Alice is being played by some unknown from the Ukraine I believe. It is set for release in March of 2010. It is both live action and animation. It is supposed to be live action till the point of Alice falling through the rabbit hole then switching to animation. I'm not sure what form of animation it will be as of yet.
I thought that was Jenifer Coolidge!

honestly i dont see much of a difference in either the us or uk, its pretty repititive, yet amazingly hilarious. i never watched it til the us one aired last week..since then ive watched all 3 seasons of the uk one. but i love love LOVED the very first us one. vicky pollard for president!!!! oh shit, wait…im in canada lol
Little Britain is neither original nor funny. Same old British genre of men in drag with their less than stellar wit. Oh, and thanks for telling us how f**ked up we are…like the Brits don't have enough of their own issues.

I watched Little Britain USA last week and I thought it was ok, but just ok. The original Little Britain is so much better. I think they went a little too main stream with the USA version. Hopefully it will improve.
I mean, even the sketch with "Computer says no" wasn't fully and I always find that one funny !!
I'm Irish btw, so I'm not biased toward either. That's just my honest opinion.

It's such a shame, i watched the Little Britain USA which was shown the other day here (UK) and it was proper WANK! They really toned it down, cos it could have been mint! don't know why they are doing a movie though…

Well, Johnny Depp did a cameo for the 'Fast Show' and was in the Comic Relief special of 'Vicar of Dibley' a few years ago, so it doesn't surprise me that he wants to be in the Little Britain movie. I'd assume that he loves the British sense of humour. Or Britain in general.
HBO got some good shows…but True Blood and Entourage trumps them all!!!
