Drew Barrymore is on the cover of the new Harpers Bazaar and the actress/activist spends A LOT of time talking about the upcoming election and the candidates.
Here are some HIGHlights!
Drew…..
On publicly pledging herself to a political party:
"It’s the first time I’ve really admitted I’m a Democrat.”
On supporting Barack Obama:
“His values…are my values.”
On the Obama campaign:
“What I want to do is work at the headquarters and do my part as a citizen.”
She continues, describing Obama as a:
“uniter and an engager. For example, when I heard him speak about a gay person never having to sit outside the hospital room with their loved one sick inside, I burst into tears because so many people I care about are homosexual and it was profound to have someone be sensitive to that. That’s the kind of world I want to live in, where we’re not holding our own principles in judgment above someone or against someone.”
On her mixed feelings about McCain:
“He is a good person and he does care, but he has voted against things that are shocking as far as people’s liberties and economic choices. I study everyone’s voting record because they say one thing and do another.”
On Sarah Palin:
“I think people realize the intention of the choice.”
On Hillary Clinton:
“It hurts me to see women so upset that she didn’t get in. Not voting because you’re angry? That won’t work.”
On her transformation since she turned 30:
“My priorities have changed so much. I’ve been single for months now, and I’ve turned my attention toward my passions, my friends, and the causes I believe in. I’ve learned to put myself second. I’ve had a couple fun, frolicky relationships, but really, I got out of a five-year relationship and I dated a few people here and there. Mostly it’s been about learning who I am, not through a man, but for myself. I’ve been spending time with my friends and doing more traveling with the U.N…and challenging myself at work. I’m so happy with where my priorities are right now.”
On the youth voting statistics:
“I’m impressed with young people’s awareness of the issues, but I don’t understand why their voting numbers are so low…That’s got to change.”
She continues:
“I can’t imagine why we all don’t want desperately to take care of each other. We need to be passionately inspired by the fact that we can take our environment and our country back.”

Keating is relevant because it confirms that John McCain had a front row seat at the Saving and Loan collapse in 89-90. S&L in CA, AR and FL gave adjustable rate mortgages to people who could not afford them. When those dangerous mortgage blew up in a few years, the homeowners defaulted, the S&L's then went out of business and 27,000 savers lost their life saving in uninsured accounts. How did McCain respond? He became a champion of more deregulation. The guy has always had BAD judgment! He does not learn from mistake. Do you really want this guy leading us out of the current mortgage mess?

I do not think Drew would need to be paid to say the things she did in this interview; why accuse her of such? If she is answering questions about politics I assume those are the questions she was asked. Afterall, this is the season for politics.

Are you Kidding Me???? Basic, ordinary health insurance for an individual is 700+ per month - and for families its 1,000+ month.

I know this as fact. I looked into, and I have several friends who are consultants, and have to purchase their own insurance.

For the average family? Insurance will cost you - at a minimum - $12,000. John will give you $5,000.

So how does this work for the normal family?? For those who currently have insurance — it will now cost you — at a minimum, and additional $7,000 per year. (or close to $600/month).
