Anne Hathaway Gets Crowned For Tim Burton

All hail the new Queen!
Despite, you know, discovering that her ex-boyfriend is a scumbag, things are looking up for Anne Hathaway.
Her film, Rachel Getting Married, is surrounded in Oscar buzz, her guest appearance on SNL on Saturday elicited more than just a few giggles, and now she's just scored a role in one of the most anticipated films currently in production.
Hathaway joins Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's live-action-slash-CGI retelling of the classic Alice in Wonderland. She will be playing the White Queen opposite Carter's decapitation-happy Red Queen.
So far this movie sounds amazing, with a fabulous cast headed by a fabulous director. The CGI thing makes us a little nervous, but we're willing to put our faith in Burton's vision.
He's got a good track record!

I saw "Rachel Getting Married" last night… while I admit she was great in that movie… I honestly did not like the film one bit. Everyone in the theater was nearly sleeping by the end and I felt emotionally drained. The whole movie is watching a cat fight between two sisters who don't get along but love each other anyway because they're sisters. Good for Hathaway, bad otherwise.
So who's playing Alice?
I'm so glad she's bouncing back.
Why nervous about CGI?? If you were a scifi fan, you'd know the effects are amazing.

i love all the 'alice in wonderland' adaptations. i hope this one doesn't suck! anyone remember that show that used to come on disney, where alice could go through her bedroom mirror and hang out in wonderland? even the evil queen was alright there! i forgot that show until now, i think i was in 4th grade when i watched that! - every morning, waiting for the bus, lol.
