Feminem is the "Best Rapper Alive"

According to Vibe and its readers, Eminem is the Greatest Rapper Alive.
Really.
Though the once tremendously outspoken rapper has been keeping to himself as of late, Eminem beat out all of today's hot acts from Kanye West to Rick Ross.
More than 920,000 votes were cast and rappers were eliminated tournament style, streamlining a large bracket, until it was down to Eminem and Jay-Z. Em came out the winner, with 69% of the votes.
Of the honor, Eminem dipomatically said in a statement:
"It's obviously an honor to have won the fans' support by being voted the Best Rapper Alive. I don't think that there is any one rapper that is simply the best, though. Everyone who was in consideration and many others are the best at certain things, and at what they do. But since Vibe's offering the distinction, hell yeah, I'll accept!"
It's strange that something out of his mouth makes us feel sort of…warm and fuzzy inside.
Rumor has it that Em's been working quietly at home on new material with 50 Cent and Dr. Dre.
Now that he's the Best Rapper Alive he's gotta back it up!

I actually hate almost all Rap. However I love Em's music. I have all his albums and cant wait for the new one. I totally agree, he's definitely the best there is.

Well, actually, I might agree. He may not be the biggest Rap Icon, but he's fast on his feet with words, incredibly intelligent, and very good at the logistics of rapping.
I think Eminem has always been terribly underrated when it came to the discussion of who the best rapper alive is, but I don't think he is the best. I still would put guys like Talib Kweli, Gift of Gab, Ghostface Killah, Mos Def, Andre 3000 (arguably THE most underrated rapper alive), and MF DOOM ahead of him.

I generally don't like rap, but I think Eminem is a genius. He deserves the award, but I think he should stay "retired" and go out on top like he did. His last album was perfection and you can't really improve on perfection IMO.

There need be no poll for me to know that he's the best. His music blows me away most of the time. The fact that a song can go from light to dark in about 4 seconds flat, the fact that he does not feel the need to rap about how great he is, how many cars, chains, women, houses, etc he's got, the simple fact that he's got his own number makes him the best.
