Brenda's Back! And Brandon's Coming Too (Sorta)
First, the very good news: Shannen Doherty has signed on to star in two additional episodes of 90210 this season.
Yay!!!!
The CW's new 90210 is paralleling its predecessor in more than one way!
Amid diva drama and skinny suspicions, the show seems to be trying its best to reunite all of the previous generation on set, in some form or another.
So far, they've managed to score Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty in reprisal roles. And now it looks like Doherty's one-screen brother, Jason Priestley, is set to return as well. Sorta.
Priestley will remain behind the camera as a director, not too unlike the role he eventually took on in the original series.
Will Priestley end up directing Doherty?
Executive producer Gabe Sachs said it "would be a kick for Jason to work with any of his [former 90210 costars], and it would also add something special to that episode. But we don't know whether that will happen yet."
More likely Priestley will be directing Garth, who is slated to return for even more episodes, despite rumors otherwise.
Now they just gotta hook Tori Spelling and Luke Perry.
Come on Perry! Don't let your character be a deadbeat dad!

Last night's episode was BY FAR the best episode so far. I don't see the show getting much better though. I am all for Luke Perry not being on the show. Maybe if the show got 100x better. I really don't like the whole bringing back former 90210 peeps. It's one of the show's major downfalls (besides the sub-par writing).

Priestley's a nice guy, met him when he was doing a movie here in town. Very short though

the older cast members are the ONLY good thing about that show. the kids are all little cunts, not to mention horrible actors.
