      If you guys know some cool Mormons, or you say that NOT ALL suck, then why even spread hate statements like this? I am Mormon and I am 150% FOR gay marriage, I have done nothing but spend my lifetime supporting it, and I am not even gay! I do not agree with those Mormons doing that, but those are the ones, that every religion has, that don't think for their selves. I don't know how you think it's fun for me to be AFRAID to admit I'm Mormon, because I'm afraid I'm going to be judged by other people, both professionally and socially. Why can't a person have an opinion that isn't onside with yours without be accused with something so ridiculous as hatred?       I live in California and just sent off my absentee ballot. I voted NO on Prop #8. The initiative to attempt to ban gay marriages is wrong! Marriage is a private matter between two consenting adults and is no one else's business. There's more than enough problems in the world today (economy, health care, the upcoming elections, global warming, energy issues, etc.) to worry about; people should quit interfering in the personal lives of others. Live and let live. The last I heard this was a FREE country (though McBush and Caribou Barbie would like to change that).

      I used to be a Mormon and before I left every year they would send out a letter saying that voting was important but the church wouldn't tell people what to vote for. A year after I left they confirmed my decision by sending out this. Opposition to gay marriage is completely a religious belief, and Mormons claim to not impose religious beliefs on anyone. This whole campaign to pass Prop 8 is ridiculous and contradicts their own beliefs about letting others have their own beliefs. There is a reason people get married in churches-it is a religious thing so no one should be able to limit other's marriage rights

      I really don't get why Mormon people care? Are the gays really hurting their faith? NO. Clearly. Why does letting gay people marry have anything to do with the "institution of marriage." To be honest it is almost as insane as laws back in the day saying whites can't marry blacks! I've know gay couples that have been together decades where as some of my friends have been married for maybe 2 years before they divorce. It's just stupid. I'm LDS even though I haven't been to church in years, but I don't agree with their aggression on Prop 8. I think what the church members are doing is ridiculous, disgusting, selfish, sad, and totally not Christ like. They are only promoting more hate and discrimination in this country.
      The church is always "teaching" about helping others, so why not instead spend these 8 million dollars on a BETTER cause, that will actually help others. There are currently movements under way to decriminalize it and it was even suggested by the Senate during Paul Martin's tenure, but it's never been legal. Stephen Harper's government moved away from the decriminalization suggested by the Senate, but he's done nothing to expand laws against marijuana except for the purposes of trafficking and dealing.       You're a fucking idiot. The very definition of Mormon, means "Christian", which is a believer in God, a follower of his word, the Bible. God says in the Bible that man shall not have sex with another man, therefore, you are not a follower of God (Christian/Mormon) if you support Gay Marriage, because you are then opposing the word of God, which would make you a non-Christian.

      This is why there are so many different denominations of Christians, because everyone adjusts their interpretations of the Bible to suit their own wishes.
