Foo Fights Don't Think McCain Is A Hero

They did it again!!!!!!
The McCain campaign has been using many many songs without permission, most recently playing the Foo Fighters' My Hero at speeches and rallies.
Well, Dave Grohl and his bandmates are none too pleased about it!
Naturally, they want McCain to quit using their song, joining Heart, Van Halen, John Mellencamp and Jackson Browne in a similar battle.
Say the Foos:
"This isn’t the first time the McCain campaign has used a song without making any attempt to get approval or permission from the artist. It’s frustrating and infuriating that someone who claims to speak for the American people would repeatedly show such little respect for creativity and intellectual property. The saddest thing about this is that ‘My Hero’ was written as a celebration of the common man and his extraordinary potential. To have it appropriated without our knowledge and used in a manner that perverts the original sentiment of the lyric just tarnishes the song.”

How stupid are these musicians? The McCain campaign does in fact license all music they use through the proper channels. One doesn't need "permission from the artist"- they just need to pay the licensing fee- which obviously makes these stupid "artists" mo' money.

I really liked the Foo Fighters, until this. How un-American, to post something like that.
You don't have to have their permission to play their music at a rally. They are just being overgrown brats. "I don't agree with you views, so you can't play my stuff. Whaaaaa. Now give me my ball back. Whaaaaa." These muscians would gain a lot of respect from the public if they just stated they don't agree with McCain's views, but they do respect McCain's rights to play their music if he wants.
You legal geniuses know nothing of intellectual property. In a public venue, one can not just appropriate someone else's art and use it without permission - particularly to brand themselves with it. The Foos are right to be concerned as these ridiculous candidates who are an embarrassment, are sullying their song by association.
Maybe he should play some of Heidi Montag's stuff since she seems to be the only person that likes McCain.

Playing an artist's song at your political rally seems to imply said artist's support. At least to me.

Artist have a say in how their brand or music is used, Copyright etc. They do not want to be associated with him at all and McCain needs to get the memo on that. McCain is NOT a hero. I live in Arizona and know this fools history. How does getting captured and giving the "enemy" government information make you a hero? McCain is so stupid that the reason he got captured in the first place is because he didn't know how to eject himself from his own plane!
