Chinese Democracy Has a Release Date!

This spring, Dr. Pepper offered to send a free can of its bevvie to "everyone in America" if Guns 'n' Roses's long delayed new album, Chinese Democracy, were to drop anytime during the 2008 calendar year.
Well, Dr. Pepper's going to need to pony up because GnR and their corporate partner have set a 2008 release date!
You can pick up your very own copy of Chinese Democracy at a Best Buy starting on Sunday, November 23rd.
We know you music lovers are thinking Sunday not Tuesday, the 'normal' day new releases hit the market?!
Billboard reports that the move is tied to the structure of Best Buy's sales week, which runs from Sunday to Saturday.
Way to totally sell out, guys!

Why is it "Selling Out" to adjust a marketing release to coincide with the schedule of the retailer featuring your CD? That was a stupid comment Perez. If a musicioan selling out means that they are trying to make money then every single musician in the world is a sell out unless they just sit out in the park all day playing for free. That said…..who really gives a shit about this CD? I mean maybe 10 years ago, but Hell, in 10 years, Madonna would have put out 8 CD's and had 10 different religeons and boyfriends.

The only song off the album I've heard so far was the one that's included in Rock Band 2.
It. Is. Terrible.
I'm usually open to all types of music but that song did nothing for me. I'm not saying the album will be just as bad but it certainly didn't get me excited for it.

So funny…..Myself and girlfriends stayed at the soho house a couple of years ago and they had played Madison Square Garden and they held their private party there afterwards on the sixth floor….CRAZY party girls walking around naked with snakes around their necks all kinds of crazy shit but a GREAT PARTY!!!!
It's not even Guns and Roses! Axl Rose just owns the name and hires lame musicians that wear costumes to look like the old band. I'm sure it will suck horribly. The rest of the band was smart to move on.
"MADAGASCAR" and "CATCHER IN THE RYE" are great tracks. I don't know if this album will appeal to many of today's fans, as most of us who used to rock the mullets and Z-28's are nearing 40, but it is about fucking time they release this material!
To the ill-informed, a sell out is when a band who had support from normal record stores "sells out" to a corporation for greed purposes. Such as when The Eagles(same manager as Guns N' Poses) only sold their album at Wal-Mart. The demos leaked a long time ago. It's no Metallica. And it won't sell as much as Metallica because only Best Buy will carry it. Way to go corporate rock whores!
