Karl Lagerfeld Is Coming To The States

Filed under: Fashion Smashion > Karl Lagerfeld

Real estate crisis? What real estate crisis?

In the world of Karl Lagerfeld, that sort of stuff doesn't exist.

In fact, he is going to save the U.S. economy with the six-bedroom, 1840 landmark building on an island in Lake Champlain, Vermont that he just plunked down a nice chunk of change for.

Why Vermont?????

Oh, of course he's already picked out the curtains! Something along the lines of a Vilhelm Hammershoi painting.

“I love it. It’s very much Emily Dickinson," he said backstage at a Chanel show.

He plans on staging new Chanel campaigns out of the new property, the landscape of which is similar to that of his Northern European home.

Maybe he will sprinkle some designer pixie dust and all will be fixed!

I have sailed Lake Champlain from Chimney Point to Rouses Point. Summer time sunsets are beautiful. In the fall the autumn leaves are breath taking.

One fine summer day, as I sailed on Lake Champlain, the sunlight sparkled on the top of every small wave in sight. I felt like I was sailing on a sea of priceless diamonds. It was unforgettably beautiful.
    *
On another occasion, when no one had a camera, we sailed through a sun shower. A rainbow formed in the sky and continued through the water making a complete circle. It appeared as if the sailing vessel I was on was the Pot-O-Gold at the end of the rainbow.

In the winter Lake Champlain freezes. On one frozen weekend I went cross country skiing on Mallets Bay. This was a cloudless day with vibrant blue sky. The sunlight sparkled on the snow like rubies, diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, amethyst, citrine, and fiery opals. I felt like the queen of the world.

The only place I have ever seen Northern Lights is while sailing on Lake Champlain in the night.
    *
Lake Champlain is a very special place. That's why Mario.

Why Vermont? Because its beautiful and not over commercialized maybe? Also, not too too far from New York City. If he takes a private plane from Burlington, it would be real quick. There is more to this country than New york, LA and Miami, Perez.
