Another Biopic

Forest Whitaker will be starring and directing in the new Louis Armstrong biopic, What a Wonderful World.
He better not suck - cuz, since he's directing it, he can't blame anyone but himself!
The flick is being made by the Paris-base company Legende.
The film's exec producer will be Oscar Cohen, who actually worked with Armstrong in the late 1940s as his road manager.
As for the script, that will be written by Ron Bass who also wrote My Best Friend's Wedding and Entrapment.
Whitaker said, "Armstrong left a monumental mark on our lives and our culture. He lived an amazing life and, through his art, shifted the way music was played and would be heard after him, not just here in the US but all over the world."
Let's hope the movie doesn't bomb.

Forest's best work was Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
I doubt it will bomb… but does anyone know if he can sing or play thee trumpet?

He is a great actor. He played "Bird" the trumpet player and did a fantastic job, no wonder he won an Oscar! He is one of my favourite actors.
Forest is an incredible actor. I'm sure it won't bomb. Due to subject matter it may make it's $$ off DVD's, but it will make $$. Not sure how many people under 30 even know who Louis Armstrong is.

I love Forest Whitaker. He is a fantastic Director and actor…who puts his all into his films. Not to mention, Louis Armstrong was a phenomenal man and, his story deserves to be told.
I will definitely watch this film. Just because you don't 'get' his films, Perez…doesn't mean that they are destined to "bomb".
Good actor, but not ike Denzel Washington though.
He was superb in Clint Eastwoods movie "Bird" about Charlie Parker ( jazz ace for the musically moronic) ' No reason this should fail.
Why do you keep mentioning you're afraid it'll bomb? That's *your* fear, Perez, don't palm it off on us. Whitaker has directed before. He's a multi talented guy and I'm sure the flick will be great! So pullleeeze think positive on this one.
Better not suck? He won an Oscar for his portrayal of Idi Amin in Last King of Scotland, I don't think his acting is in question.. According to imdb.com he's directed five movies including Waiting to Exhale.
Bleezy- There are plenty of people under 30 that have heard Louis Armstrong. Some music is just legendary, but it helps to have music-loving parents…
