Four-time Daytime Emmy nominee Eileen Herlie has passed away.

Best known by American audiences as All My Children's Myrtle Fargate, the actress died at the age of 90 on Wednesday from complications due to pneumonia.

Eileen had a full career. She appeared in a number of films and even earned a Tony nomination for her work on Broadway.

In the late 40's, Miz Fargate was cast by the legendary Laurence Olivier for his film adaptation of Hamlet.

Impressive!

Eileen leaves behind a brother and nieces and nephews.

Our thoughts are with them.

I'm sure All My Children will do something. They did something when Phoebe died, too. I bet the guy who plays Palmer is next. Or maybe Joe.

Who is (was) this old bag?

      Re: devil_dawg_wife
I don't think Ray MacDonnel(Joe) is sick, but James Mitchell(Palmer) is rather old and rather ill. All the old greats from the show are dying or leaving…all these horrible noobs are on the show now.

      sigh…Myrtle…

I grew up watching Myrte on All My Children. I was there when Pheobe first brought her into town to break up Kitt's marriage to Link. Myrtle became a grand lady for all those years and she was one of the best on the show. Rest in peace Eileen. You you will be sorely missed.
