A Few Words from Robyn…on Madonna
In response to Swedish media reports, which were picked up by us and a lot of other media outlets around the world, Robyn just sent us the following exclusive statement:
"Seeing that a lot has been reported about my experience of being on tour with Madonna in the press, I feel like I have to tell it like it is! So with my own words, here I go:
I got a chance to go on tour with Madonna in Europe and like any one who's been a fan of her since the age of ten I was super exited. Contrary to what you might have read elsewhere its been FUN! I've played to Madonna's audience in eleven different cities, all of which have received us well even though I was only the opening act. Me and my band got to know Madonna's production team and they were very helpful. Madonna's management was super cool and we hung out with the band and dancers and had a lot of fun with them. When I met her at the end of the tour she was really cool and natural. I got a chance to thank her for putting me on and she even told me she was a fan! It was a very special moment i will never forget.
When I arrived on the first day of the tour I was surprised by the tight security that involved us as well. It took a couple of days to find my place on this big adventure but the tour has been a once in a lifetime experience. I have gotten the rare opportunity to see an enormous production from the inside and get the chance to perform in front of tens of thousands of people at every show.
In one interview I was asked if I wanted a career like Madonnas and I said no, my worst nightmare would be trying to be a Madonna. She's an icon and a pioneer, but only Madonna can be Madonna. It would be sad to try to copy her model. Times are different nowadays as well. Even if I tried, it would be hard to build what she has achieved in the climate of the music industry today. I want to be me and work from my own small independent record company.
I want to be left alone in my creative process. I imagine she has lots and lots of people telling her things. Every one watches her every move. Obviously she can cope with that, but for me that pressure would be a burden. Too many other people have cracked under much less pressure in the music world and as a woman it's even harder to stay at the top. The peer pressure, fashion mags and media celebrate youth, beauty and the new in females and most people are lucky to stay around for 5 years. I learned that next to the president of the United States of America, Madonna must be the most famous person on earth whose every little move is watched by millions and a complete security state is surrounding her!
I´m from a little country called Sweden where even though a lot of people know me here, I still can go to the store and buy milk in my underwear. And I would love to keep that for me.
But who am I to judge her? Watching her on stage during the tour I could tell that she was really enjoying herself. She is probably doing exactly what she wants to do and that´s why she is so inspiring. I want to be like that as well, I want to be myself."

Oh honey, the entire world is certainly NOT watching Madonna's every move. She's a fucking has-been. She could fart in a bag and I couldn't care less. Second most famous person in the world?? Please. As for papatoony's really negative comments on Madonna, you and I may personally may not be fans of the woman but the facts are she sells albums, tours all over the world and is constantly in the media. She was one of the biggest grossing music acts of 2007 so that makes her hardly a has-been.
I enjoy Robyn's personality very much. I find her very refreshing. I have one of her earlier albums. This newer stuff of hers is good except I don't like that cover song very well.
Very well spoken . I am from sweden as well, and it's true that she probably could go to the supermarket in her underwear without anyone really noticeing. We don't have paparazzis in Sweden, and thank GOD for that .

People seem to think its Iceland or something here. It is pretty much the same weather here as in England, except that we dont get all that rain. (Far north in Sweden it IS cold as hell though).
Robyn in great and has made tons of great music. I read somewhere that she said people in America seem to think she is weird and gay ´cause she is not that "girly". haha. fun.

Re: LaMisma – or, maybe the media, as usual, manipulates stuff and doesn't put out the facts the first time. Quite a few years ago, Pink was to have said, "I'm going to make people forget about Madonna," and that she was no longer a fan. That was not true, and she came out to say that was a fabrication; she later met Madonna and was a complete fan. Even if she HAD meant what she said the first time, Madge has had negative press for years, and so a comment from Robyn false or true now isn't going to have her suddenly care so much she'd threaten a performer, nor would she let her management do that either. She's a busy woman with the tour, so it's not like she necessarily had the time to meet her beforehand; once things had calmed down, then she was able to talk with her one on one.
whatever, Robyn HAS to try and be nice about Madonna. I bet Madonna is a total pice of shit. She isn't better than anyone else, she hasn't save the fucking world. She spends her life in the gym and making shallow pop music. Big deal.

Clueless fucktards think that running a tour of gigantic proportions (especially if you are a hands-on boss) is easy and leaves Madonna with lots of time for idle chitchat. Robyn must have just been APPROVED by Madonna in preproduction meetings, and only sometime later did M had time to meet with Robyn (which apparently went well)… Goes to show that you can't always believe what comes from the press the first time around, many of which (like in here) perversely thrive on negativity… At any rate, had the original story been true, Madonna simply don't have the time NOR does she care for such things as arm twisting Robyn to set her right. Madonna has MUCH more better things to do and she had gone through much bigger issues than this nonevent. .. And goes to show that it's not M but the haters who are MAJOR douches

Re: Zippy – Robyn has released several records since she was 16 and they have all been successful all over Europe and the hits have been more then one. The US are as usual a bit slow when there's someone from another country. Robyn has never been desperate to make it in the US, not every1 is. She is in fact very modest. Europe contains about 45 countries so we're doing fine thank you. I actually think being a hit in several other countries with so many different cultures is a bigger achievement then to make it in the US. So get your facts straight before you open that big mouth of yours Zippy!
