I would like to officially come out as a straight white guy. When do I get my month?

  3. 3

Hi Perez…this should make you happy…live in Ct. and on Thursday it became the third state where you can get married…. They already had legal union or something approved but they fought for this and got it and the Governor though against same sex marriage, not living together or being recognized as a couple as people love whom they do, but marriage as between a man and woman..Sure you already knew this & it's in here somewhere but have been away looking for property in the islands in case I have to move in November rather than be controlled by my govt… so perhaps you posted this on Thus. just don't have energy to scroll back. So now good old Ct. has joined Ca.and Mass. Perhaps Jeannie told you during your daily, excellent gossip spot on local radio here…. m in Ct.

WHY DOESNT EVERYONE JUST MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS WHEN IT COMES TO WHAT GOES ON IN THE BEDROOM?
WHY DO PEOPLE FEEL THE NEED TO BROADCAST THEIR PREFERENCES?
WHY DO GAY PEOPLE ACT SO ”BOISTERIOUS” ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE?
I NEVER SEE STRAIGHT PEOPLE GOING AROUND AND HAVING STRAIGHT PRIDE PARADES.
WHO CARES WHAT YOU DO IN THE PRIVACY OF YR BEDROOM,QUIT SHOVING IT IN OUR FACES BECAUSE THAT JUST MAKES YR ”CAUSE” HARDER TO BE ACCEPTED BY ANYONE.

  5. 5

We have that in my school! But I DO live in Massachusetts…

  6. 6

this is a bunch of bullshit

  7. 7

Re: MOMMIE DEAREST – Coming out doesn't mean telling people what you do in the bedroom you stupid fuck! And Gay Parades are held to combat homophobia! It's held to show people like you that were not gonna take your crap and that there's nothing you can do to change us!

    XD

Perez… seriously? Why are you supporting this and calling it a worthwhile cause, when you try to make every day a coming out day? You are constantly attempting to out celebrities, and relentless on those you know or feel are gay. That clearly says that the GLSEN, "Strives to assure that each member is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation…" yet you definitely do not show much respect to those who are waiting for the right time to come out. Start supporting that before you pretend to support these causes.

i know right? im coming out as a straight white female. whens MY month! i have absolutely no problem with homosexuals but if they dont want to be seen as something different from everyone else in the world then why would they like to be treated differently? I should get a month if they are.

  11. 11

Re: maria preston1 – Why do you want a month??

  12. 12

gays are just adding up reasons to be hated even more, and they get surprised when everyone is voting yes to prop 8

::I would like to officially come out as a straight white guy. When do I get my month?::

Unless you didn't already know, every day is straight white guy day in this country. Ignoramus.

Wow, straight white people are SO privileged and entitled, and the sad part is they don't even realize it. Shame.

  15. 15

Ugh, this country gets worse and worse. National Coming Out Day? Are you serious? What's next? National adopt-a-kid-day-cause-I-can't-pro-create day? Please people, if you're a registered voter in Cali, VOTE YES ON 8!

…more acceptance and love=less suicides, less drug addiction…sounds good to me. "Only Yesterday" it seemed like a far off dream. Equality and acceptance for all!

Re: MOMMIE DEAREST – …because not everyone is receiving the same rights. I don't want to hear what people do in their bedrooms either,[esp. certain things] but when blacks fought for their rights it was obvious who was black. It isn't the same with (some) gays and lesbians…

Re: CuddlyCarla – you are cool. and just hit the pink 'reply to this' if you want to reply to a certain comment. It took me a while to catch on too. If that is you in the avatar you are a stunner.

How about a fucking "go away day" so you fags can get out of my face? VOTE YES ON 8!!!!

I spend a small fortune to send my son to school for an education…math, history, science, etc.
It is MY responsibility, as his parent, to teach him tolerance and diversity. And, considering that he has a gay Uncle and Aunt, whom he doesn't think any less of (for their sexuality) and, can watch a TV program, or movie, where same-sex people kiss or make love, without being physically ill…I think that I have done my job.
So, no…I won't be donating to this "very worthwhile cause". If more parents would speak WITH their children, instead of TO them….there would be no need for this.

  24. 24

Some of the comments are really rude. People don't understand what this is really for. Do you realize how cruel people can be in high school? Do you remember how awkward high school could be? To be reassured that you can express yourself and be yourself if the greatest feeling a person can have. I love how people think gay people just want to feel "priveledged". Yes, it's true. We all want the same rights as everyone else. Straight people can wake up in the morning and go to school and go to work and do whatever but people that question their sexuality-or know their sexuality to be one that deviates from the norm (the norm being straight in this case) can't just live an everyday life.

  25. 25

And some gay people don't flaunt it all…I actually know a VERY respectable professor who is gay and I had no idea because he acted like a straight guy. Some people just feel that acting out gives them a label, just like some people who listen to rap wear baggy clothes and doo rags to emphasize what social circle they come from.

I am not gay, but I am not straight. I don't know what I am. I function fine in the real world but do struggle with the thought that I may be improperly judged if someone feels that me being bisexual is wrong or disgusting. And I am out of high school. It would be hard to deal with it in high school, and the people who are making these mean comments are the same people from high school that this organization is trying to shield people who question their sexuality from.

  26. 26

I'm not really sure that I understand this whole "gay people flaunt" thing at all. Basically, if a gay person just steps outside the house, they're "flaunting" it. If they wear a bright shirt, they're "flaunting" it. If they hold hands with their partner, they're "flaunting" it. Heaven forbid they just be living their lives like everyone else and trying to be true to themselves. It's such a double standard. If that's the definition of "flaunting" it, straight people certainly do the same thing every day of their lives.

    Re: karencarpenter

Thanks, doll. No, that's not me (I wish!), but I am quite happy with the way I look ;p I appreciate the complements. You rule.

  28. 28

    Re: Anonymous

I really commend you on trying to raise open-minded children. However, leaving this to parents is like leaving the drug/alcohol talks to parents, or the sex talks, or the anti-violence talks. The majority of parents DON'T do what you are doing, aren't responsible enough, and don't do enough to save their children in general nonetheless to raise them as thoughtful concerned citizens. Hence the need for programs, days, and other forms of recognition for tolerance. I wish every kid had as thoughtful a parent as you do, but sadly you are in the minority. So those things are out there to aid all those others.

  29. 29

Quit linking GAY rights to GENDER rights. Respecting women is part of gender rights and YOU haven't done that yet.

  30. 30

All charities are suffering….that's what really sucks. People are lining up for food and we are the richest country in the world? Something is soooo wrong here.

  31. 31

Re: SoCal – Too bad we'll always be up in your face, so just fucking deal with it!!

  32. 32

Re: SoCal – Well aren't you a rash ignorant one. What the hell ever happened to separation of Church and State? What does it matter if two people who are deeply in love want to marry? It wont effect you. Those "Yes on 8" ads are just a bunch of lies. Churches CANT be sued and they WONT lose their tax exemptions and it will NOT be taught in schools. If marriage was so "sacred" then why do we allow people to get married in jeans and hats at Vegas? And if it were so "sacred" then why do we allow people to divorce SO EASILY? Now im not saying divorce is a bad thing (believe me i dont, im GLAD my mother divorced that loser of a "father" of mine) but when there is such a HIGH RATE of divorcees then its not considered sacred. Im glad i live in California and i cannot wait to Vote No on Prop 8.

Re: CuddlyCarla – get serious. It was just coincidental i was the second straight white person to say that. What makes gay people high and mighty enough to receive a special month? They are just the same as everyone else and should be treated as such. Individuals are going to keep their outlook on homosexuals if they have their own special month or not. I dont care if you are gay or straight, humans ARE humans and people are entitled to their own opinions. Its funny when people think they can change other peoples mind about something..then all it comes down to is arguing the difference.
