With the presidential election soon approaching, many musicians have taken an active role in participating to promote awareness.

Jay-Z, Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand and many others have helped out.

And, now, Beastie Boys' are hitting the road to perform some shows in the battleground states.

The group has announced the "Get Out & Vote ‘08" tour, which will take them to Virginia on October 28th, Minnesota on November 1st, and end in Milwaukee on November 2nd.

The VA stop will be extra exciting. Joining the boys in Virgina will be Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones and a few others.

Also helping out will be Ben Harper and Tenacious D, who will perform in St. Paul, Minnesota and Milwaukee.

Reps from Rock the Vote will be on hand to distribute information about local polling sites and how to get your early votes counted.

Go Vote!

I'm really tired of the ageist ways of this site. Perez, you don't find it acceptable to trash or even joke beyond a certain point about gays or Latinos or African-American's but somehow it's okay for you to call out entertainers and other celebs over a certain age for, well, for what exactly? For being alive? Why don't you watch some TV shows from the 1950s, perhaps some The Twilight Zone episodes. You'll see that many actors were in the 30s and 40s and 50s because popular culture had not become so pathetically ageist. Then may I suggest you rent All About Eve. Pay close attention to the end, Perez. Your heart is the right place on so many issues. Why you think it's cool to be ageist is mystifying.

Hmm…I wonder who all of those performers support? Are their intentions true? Or are they going to preach that everybody needs to vote for Obama and not give us a good reason?

so um, just so you know…Aries don't age very well…you should consider watching your karma when you jab people for age, baby boy. Youth FLIES. You'll be lucky if you look as good OR ROCK as hard as the Beastie Boys in your 40 somethings. Like look at Marlon Brando. OMG, hottest man ever in youth, yes an Aries…and look at him at his life's end. Soooo sad.

Our OLD X generation has cooler celebs than your boring Y generation, anyhoo!!! Rock hard and get old listening to "Pork and Beans", ya lil' punks….

      YEAH!

They only focus on the critical swing states because they know there's a problem with potentially fraudulent registration and voting in these states. I wonder if ACORN is supporting any of these concert endeavors?

      San Francisco needs a show!!!

      McCain-Palin or Obama-Biden…
