If I read some of the verbage of Amendment 2 - not only will same sex partnerships and marriages be denied, but it seems so will common law marriages…as well as man and woman couples who simply live together without common law.

In addition - it can impact those state universities that offer support for same sex partners???

    What an ugly bill.

I see when they use the word "baloney",they are trying to appeal to the voters who are as old as dirt.

    Entertaining,that's for sure.lol

  11. 11

  12. 12

Re: Melissa is always right – guess you were wrong this time, huh bitch?

  13. 13

I wish I could vote!, but damn, legal residents can't vote!

  14. 14

    i voted NOOOOO!!!!

  15. 15

It's practically a certainty that this stupid amendment will pass. With the exception of South Florida, narrowminded conservatism reigns in this state.

  16. 16

Don't worry mate, it's not going to happen here. We're on it.

sorry perez. i live in tampa, i voted yes on 2 because i'm so turned off by your haterous retoric. all i knew about 2 i saw on your site.and saw you wanted no…all i know is that i don't agree with your opinions…and calling 18 year old girls (not public figures) whores and hating on them for staying with their boyfriend and having a child instead of killing it. all i know is i don't agree with you. way to educate, i know i'm not the only one who feels this way.

I vote that we kick all the elderly out of Florida. I dont really get why they are here? All they do is mess up elections and bitch about the heat and when they lose their trailers in hurricanes. Lets not start about the driving…

Srsly vote no on 2 and yes for pushing for a less geriactric Florida. Jeesh

Re: esfla – Wow. A jackass much?

Just because you oppose someone's opinion on something is enough to influence a person's right to enjoy a marriage with the one they love? Whatevs, it's your opinion. I just hope you realize how completely douchey you sound in this post.

    New Smyrna Beach, represent.

  20. 20

Re: ElectraCutieKitty – so gays must have the right to marry but according to you the elderly have no right to be in FL? talk about someone sounding douchey and fucktardish.
    Gainesville, FL here
    YES ON 2

  21. 21

good looking out Perez…..i know how backward this state can be…

  22. 22

I live in Florida and I am proud to say I just completed my absentee ballot and I voted NO to Amendment 2!

  23. 23

    Re: MeowMix67
Fucktardish… wow… zing. Gosh darn, you got me good you fucker.

Did I point out that the brilliant and well-informed idiot had a right to his/her opinion? Hmm… maybe I didnt.

I'd also love to point out that I actually gave actual facts out to support my rally for a younger brighter Florida. Tell me, rationally, why I should spend my one vote to oppose OTHER people that should enjoy a right to enjoy a marriage to the person of their choice? How would someone else's gay marriage actually impact my life? It wouldnt. If you actually believe that it destroys what marriage stands for, uh, then those drive-thru wedding chapels with the other lane for quickie divorces should be closed down. And while you're at it, no more elvis impersonators should be allowed to perform ceremonies either, that's the epitome (look it up) of cheapening marriage.

Even you, in your heroic "in yo' face" retort should admit that the reason that brilliant jerkface voted yes was just text-book fucktastic.

    Re: esfla

That is the most immature thing I have ever heard. Maybe you should develop your own opinion instead of basing it in Perez Hilton. People like you don't deserve the right to vote.

  25. 25

Get the FACTS straight…this amendment does not "take away" from gay couples having rights as a couple, it simply means keeps them from calling it a "marriage" which is defined as one man one woman. The people creating this bill do not "hate gay people" or anyone for that matter and just want to simply keep the definition of marriage as one man and one woman. Gay couples can still have unions and rights as a couple, just don't call it a "marriage." BTW…I heart you Perez :)

  26. 26

Re: sayrah – When I read up on it, Sayrah, it didnt seem to read that its just against using the term, "marriage". You're probably right, and I need to read it again. But even if that's the amendment, why does it need a different name? This is a total hang up of mine. I am married to someone of the opposite sex. I have friends that are gay, and have been commited to their partner for years. There is no difference in the way I am commited to my husband and the way their commitment is. Why cant they get married and call it marriage? The only reason I see excluding homosexual couples from being able to use that term is to not allow them rights because of legal verbage. I just think that homosexual people give people the heebeegeebees, just like interacial couples used to. I wish the shock value on the same-sex couples would just wear off. *shrug*
