Fall Out Boy's Campaigning for a Later Release Date
Fall Out Boy's new album, Folie a Deux, is currently scheduled to go on sale on election day in America, Tuesday, November 4th.
The band is now having serious doubts about the 'cutesy' election day tie-in and hope that their label changes the release date.
Here's the band's explanation:
Six months ago we thought it would be a fun idea to release our album on election day but this is not the election to be cute. We felt as though rather than making a commentary we were only riding the wave of the election. This seemed less and less like what we intended to do and more of a gimmick. It is now in the hands of our label to give us a new release date… it is our intent to get our record out this year and as soon as possible — as we made sure to have it done in time for its original release.

registration fraud in a number of battleground states. ACORN's political action
committee has endorsed Barack Obama and Senator Obama himself has said, "I have been
fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career." The Obama
Campaign even paid more than $800,000 to an ACORN affiliate for "get out the vote
activity." And now we find out that ACORN is suspected of voter registration fraud.
But, the Obama-Biden Democrats would rather sweep these facts under the rug and use their mainstream media allies to bury this story.

GRRRR! You dont even understand how mad I am that IDJ & the guys are making us over 18 months for anything to happen!
I'm told from a source at their label that the reason they are delaying release from election day is because the album is getting bad pre-buzz and they realize without any serious interest in the record that first day album sales will be abysmal considering people will be more interested in voting. Any claim that they are moving the date out of respect to the election is false.
