Oliver Stone: It's All True!

Hey right wingers!
Think before you slam well-known lefty director Oliver Stone's W. movie.
According to a new report, Stone and screenwriter Stanley Weiser have managed to make George W. Bush human:
The president portrayed in the film (by Josh Brolin) is not evil. He is a man struggling to do the right thing, who ultimately fails due to ignorance, laziness, egotism, bad advice and a misguided belief that he is doing the will of God. Weiser says he wanted to present a well-rounded take on the 43rd president.
"I wanted to leave my politics at the door," he says. " 'Fahrenheit 9/11' has already been made, and it eviscerated Bush. After reading about him, I learned a lot and saw him in a different light than I did only seeing the parodies of him on television."
Weiser's script, which follows Bush from his hard-drinking youth up to the Iraq War, was initially rejected by studios for being too politically sensitive. When Stone went elsewhere to get financing, the script was again rejected - but for a different reason.
"Oliver went to a very wealthy liberal investor, and he claimed the script was too pro-Bush for him," Weiser says. "The same thing happened with German investors. They said, 'You made him a human being.' "
The filmmakers also strove for accuracy. Weiser and a research assistant pored over some 20 books and created file folders for scenes and themes. (For example, "God and Bush" and "Mission Accomplished.")
The report went on to fact check scenes portrayed in the movie.
The director and writer fared the check ok!

This movie looks SO dumb. It will tank at the theaters. It's a boring story that noone wants to see. We all know about his presidency-it's still going on, duh! This should have been a Lifetime movie.
Well of COURSE Bush wants congress to bail out the coutnry. Every time HE fucked up Mom and Dad were there with the checkbook to bail him out. Same with McCain, every time he runs up a gambling debt or fucks something up he runs to Cindy so she can open up the checkbook and bail him out.
The Dow jumps over 600 points, reclaiming the 9,000 level, as investors bet the worst is over. Yay! Things are turning around!!

How can they say "who ultimately fails due to ignorance, laziness, egotism, bad advice and a misguided belief that he is doing the will of God." when the outcome of the policies that are being judged won't be seen for at least another generation? It's like making a movie about Lincoln before he was shot in the theatre and saying he "ultimately failed at saving the Union." That's just plain partisan. Let history be the judge of that. Not some myopic liberal Hollywood partisan with a political axe to grind. I could have bought the whole "being fair" mantra until I read that "ultimately failed" crap.
Wow. Just wow. When you isolate yourself in a pig sty, you assume the whole world stinks like you. Get out and see the rest of the world (fly over country.) You'll find out that not everyone is buying this "Republicans are evil" drum beat.

This is not truth, and Oliver stone won't convince me of it. Watching the trailer alone shows Stone's obvious left bias. He is not a man that respects or cares for Bush, he despises him. He's not making this movie to honor him, he's trying to smear him. The release date convienitly comes shortly before the election, it's blatant left wing propaganda.
I love the way the portray George Bush in Harold and Kumar 2. " You just blew my fucking mind…..fuck you dad. Now light up that Alabama Kush". That is by far the best part. I am not a fan of Bush but if he really acted like that, I think I would like him more.

Come on people!!!! I am definitely NOT defending Bush, but you can "fact check" with 100 different sources and if they are all crap sources, then it doesn't mean shit. Stone was obviously burying Bush here–which again I say Bush is a dick, but Stone is a complete hypocrite. His is obviously looking to use the dislike of Bush to bury him some more and try to make some money. Stone's work has been crap since platoon. Oliver stone is writing a movie about Bush from a biased perspective and its disgusting. In other countries you are hung for treason when you do and say what people say about our prez. You may not like him, he may not have been the best president but I think he did pretty well considering he had a war on terror, a war in Iraq, a natural disaster, and a crumpling economy to deal with. Especially considering that our country suffered the most under a democratic senate and congress and the President got the blame. People think Clinton was so great but he wasn't the Republican senate and congress was great. These are things people don't know when they make their uneducated comments. Celebutards don't know what they are talking about. If I wanted to hear an asshole talk I'd fart.
