R.I.P.

This is a sad day for French actor Gerard Depardieu.
The star of My Father the Hero and several other French flicks has just lost his son.
Guillaume Depardieu, who was also an actor and starred in about 20 films, has died at the age of 37.
Guillaume passed away Monday in a hospital near Paris from a bout of acute pneumonia.
According to a rep, Guillaume contracted a virus that somehow developed into a "devastating case of pneumonia."
Guillaume was known as somewhat of a trouble maker, often getting into legal troubles over drugs, speeding, and even drunk-driving.
He even had his right leg amputated back in 2003 as a result of an unfortunate hospital infection that developed during operations to recover from a motorbike accident back in 1995.
And, although father and son had a rocky relationship, Guillaume had accused his dad of showing little interest in him as a child, the two had shown signs of improvement since back in 2002.
Sad.
Our thoughts go to Guillaume's family, friends, and fans.

OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
THIS IS AWFUL, HE WAS A GREAT ACTOR. I'M HEARTBROKEN OVER THIS.
RIP.
SAD
Sometimes, death is the reward. When it's your time to go…so long. Rest in peace.
Really sad
I love My Father the Hero
Repose en paix, Guillaume…
My prayers go to your family and friends.
Mes prières vont à ta famille et tes amis.
Je viens d'apprendre la nouvelle sur RFI. La France a perdu un acteur de grand talent. Condoléances surtout à sa famille et à ses amis. Tragique.
AIDS, definitely.
This is quite sad, the life of that young man was hell on earth. This should be a lesson to actors who have children and then divorce, remarry, have more children, you know the rest. Having a child is the grestest responsibility we may experience in a lifetime and it is to be taken seriously. I don't know if Gérard Depardieu will learn a leson from this and start living clean. May Guillaume Depardieu rest in peace at last. Au revoir Guillaume.
C'est une bien triste nouvelle.
toutes mes condoléances à ses proches.
WTF???dead at 37 from acute pneumonia?totally unexpected.I really hope it was indeed pneumonia and not drugs.either way it's so sad.he was too young.and the resemblance between him and his father is almost unbelievable.May God rest his soul and give strength to his family.very sad.
Very sad. RIP.
That's so sad. He looked just like his dad
Nice to speak about his death because he was a great actor and an original guy! Repose enfin en paix.Condoléances à sa famille et à sa petite fille!
So sad for Gerard.
Re: niamhly – when you don't know, shut up!
C'est tres tres triste.
Rest In Peace Guillaume Depardieu.
Very sad!
This is absolutely devastating. That poor guy had a very sad life: his troubled relationship with his dad, his accident, his leg… Let's hope he can finally find some peace. RIP Guillaume. You will be missed.
Re: niamhly – Nope, you're way wrong. He had be plagued by infections as a result of his repeated stay in hospitals. He also advocated better sanitary conditions in hospital. To die of pneumonia is not that uncommon, especially for a person whose immunitary system is already weak.
didint even know he had a son…
peace out to bad
normal people dont just catch and virus and then die…. he died from pneumonia??? an opportunistic viral infection…
got also an infection that cuase he's leg to be amputated…
uhmm sounds like he had a compromise immune system… aka AIDS
Sorry, reading that I would have to imagine Aids is responsible. Extremely sad. What a very young age to die….
Oh shit, fuck…how awful. This just made me run over and kiss my little one. I wish I could hug Gerard right now.
This is the type of medical care you get with socialized medicine - keep the government out of health care.

Re: plano – What are you talking about? The French health system has been voted best in the world by the wolrd's health organization. Educate yourself before talking trash.
Re: plano – Just like the healthcare here huh? Where people die just while they´re in the waiting room or lobby of a hospital.
Super!
He was a huge and very talented actor.
This is just sad. I'm shocked. And I never realized how much he looked like his dad.
Mes condoléances à sa famille.
sad, very sad! France is in shock.
RE serialk- No you are way wrong, I am a nurse in intensive care and the only young patients that I have looked after who have died of pneumonia have either been suffering from cancer, TB or AIDS! Do you not think maybe the reasons he kept getting infections in the first place was becouse his immune system was already lowered by HIV? In my experience those who catch hospital aquired infections are old or with already lowered immune systems. Anyway hope he rests in peace however he died no one deserves to die at that age.
What a bad day !!! He was the best thing that his father has done with his sister, Julie who might be devasted. he was Too sensitive, too fragile. I will never forget his way of talking. He was a very touching, and amazing guy. He used to have a very special way of thinking and sometimes a visionary, often misunderstood. His way of acting was extremly intense. Rest in peace, Guillaume.
"several other French films", try 100! His father is a legend! My father the hero was the stoopidist film he ever did (and don't forget it also "starred" a young K Heigal).
The son's life was so sad…
Guillaime was SO HOT when he was young. Check out his full frontal nudity when he was at his peak of hotness in "All the Mornings of the World," ("Tous les Matins du Monde), 1991, also starring his dad (not as hot). Oh, and RIP.
This IS sad. It seems as if the son may have had a compromised immune system starting some years back.
This is not correct to say that He had AIDS cause that is not TRUE, he was actually very sick since his accident in 1995 and never fully recover because of the infection he got at the hospital, that's why he used drugs sometimes because of the pain.
He died of pneumonia because his system was week due to all these years of fighting his illness, so please stop saying such things.
I'm really sad for his daughter and his family.
R.I.P no one should ever have to bury their child.
