"Up with People exists today to spark people to action in meeting the needs of their communities, countries and the world while building bridges of understanding as a foundation for world peace.

Through travel and cultural immersion, Up with People has provided young people from around the world with a renowned international education and an unmatched passageway to see the world. And we've been doing it for four decades.

As the world has changed, so too has the Up with People program. Once primarily impacting communities through its musical productions, the current Up with People program addresses the very real need for young adults and leaders who have global perspectives, intercultural understanding, knowledge of worldwide social issues, leadership skills and a dedication to community service.

Today, through its distinct 6-month program, Up with People participants experience personal growth, leadership training, service learning and performing arts as they travel through three continents. For many students, it's a global education that lasts a lifetime; for others, it's a life-transforming experience."

I admire Perez for raising awareness of oppression through mentioning charitites and orginizations that attempt to make a difference. If you took the time to check the websites or research the places, you would see that donating money is only one of the ways you can help. Anyone is capable of making a difference, no matter their income.

HOLY CRAP that's MY crew. I know everyone in those photos. On the cropped out right hand bit of the hard hats photo would be me.

I travelled with UWP and the awesome people in those photos in fall 2005. Best time of my life. I learnt so much, got to share my cultures with people, and developed a strong familial bond with everyone. We were a mixed bag of religions, cultures, interests, sexualities, everything. Love it love it love it.

Thank you SO much Perez. Just wondering what prompted you to promote UWP?

This is awesome. I'm traveling right now with an Up with People Cast of 107 people from 22 different countries! We're in Salt Lake City this week helping out with the Boys and Girls Club. We just got out of Mexico where we were for 5 weeks and in a month we will be in the Philippines. Our Casts are made up of around 100 young people (ages 18-29) from 20-30 different countries who travel for 6 months starting in January and July every year. We live with host families, participate in Community Impact and perform a high energy show of songs and dances from all over the world. For more information check out our website at www.upwithpeople.org or come check out some stories, pictures and videos from our current traveling cast at www.uwpontour.com . We're not just looking for donating, come travel with us!!!

    Thanks Perez

See ya out on the road!

This really is a worthwhile cause that empowers young people, from across the globe, to set an example of unity between differences.
