Quirky Quentin

In a quirky move that only Quentin Tarantino could commit, the director has officially altered the name of his German WWWII flick from Inglorious Bastards to um, InglOURious BastERds, opting for the British spelling of "inglorious" and the…phonetic spelling of "bastard?"

A spokesperson for the film - starring Brad Pitt - said, "We are not entirely sure the reasons why it has been changed. We think it just has to be one of those Tarantino-esque things. All we do know is that is definitely the title from now on."

Oh, Quentin, you're so preciously unconventional!

You're such a…..maverick!

"that's so MAVERICK….. I can't believe how freeking MAVERICK that is. I've never before seen such an incredibly original title attactched to a movie ever before. WOW" *she says toungue in cheek*

  29. 29

… we spell it inglorious as well. it's not like some words where you all take the u out, like colour.

    30

Thats not the british spelling, we also spell it inglorious! So there must be another reason….go find it!

  31. gamer says – reply to this

    31

The unique spelling will allow him to trademark the title.

  32. 32

he is retarded. he likely has no idea he spelled anything wrong.

  33. 33

bored much? that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard. yeah, that's right EVER! lhahahahahahhsa

  34. 34

tarantino misspelled both words "inglOUrious bastErds" (btw, there is no "british" way of spelling it — tarantino just added a superfluous "U") on the original script - it's been floating around online for a while. i guess he decided not to correct it and keep the wonky spelling.

  35. 35

and in response to gamer, you can't exactly trademark a movie title. i could make a movie about polar bears and call it "jackie brown" and no one would be able to do a thing.

  36. 36

it's not just the british who spell glorious that way, we canadians do as well….

  37. 37

    Nice foundation, dude.

    Nerdy,

I didn't mean it would stop other people from using the title on a movie. I meant it is a uniquely spelled pairing of words which can be protected and licensed. A trademark is an indicia of origin. Anything with those misspelled words would be connected to the movie and to him.

I used to LOVE Quentin until I saw him spit on that journalist/writer whom he claimed spoke ill of his father. When the journalist/writer tried to clear it up, saying that HE wasn't the one that wrote those things, Quentin wasn't hearing it, and spat on him.

After that, I lost all respect for him. I still like Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and Kill Bill, but it's just not the same.

I have ZERO respect for anyone that spits on someone, but even less when the person being spat on isn't to blame.

  40. 40

I heart Quentin. Name your movie whatever you want!

  41. 41

He creeps me out. I hope he's got a good personality– cuz that's the only thing he'd having going for him.

  42. 42

Re: gamer – this is true.

  43. 43

I think he just registered a misspelled domain…hah!!!!
