It is outrageous to amend the constituition to TAKE AWAY rights. We have always amended the constitution to enhance people's rights.
Dont beleive the lies out there stating churches will lose their tax status (Churches have been preforming gay marriages for years) or they will teach gay marriage in school. They don't talk about marriage at all in school.

This commercial is great! You know MAC sales went through the roof when those commercial came out with the Mac and PC…so I can this play on the idea will rally people to vote NO on Prop 8!!!

You are right! in 2000, the PEOPLE voted no to gay marriage by 62% vote. guess what? 4 out of 7 judges passed that gays can marry! The people spoke and the 4 judges said no way! Don't change the peoples vote from 2000, but since they already did, what makes them think they won't do it again? They can say what they want, but soon, churches, schools, will have to accept gay marriage, even thought they say they won't. Just ask the catholic church in boston, MASS, that had to shut down their adoption agency because gays sued them for not adopting to them. It will happen here in Cali too. Don't let them fool you. It's not equal right we are talking about. It is making people have to accept that way of living, whne they don't agree with it. Gays can live how they want, but when you force me and others to accept that way of living as normal, that is just wrong. Not equal at all. YES on 8!

I've had people knock on my door trying to get me to sign a petition for Prop 8. I couldn't believe the nerve. I wish I would have been quick on my feet and told them I was a lesbian. There are also people with Yes on Prop 8 signs in their yard. Ack! Who are these people, and how are they proud of their close mindedness.
Either way though…our rights as American's are being taken away one by one. We will soon be a police state, and the NWO is slowly happening. It's actually gaining more and more momentum. So, no one will have rights anymore, until people start wakig up and educating themselves on the Government.

I'm sorry, but marriage isn't a government or political issue. Marriage is a religious issue and it is not the right of the state or the country to dictate what the Church can and cannot do. That is why they are separated.

To those complaining about liberal/leftist judges, judges are there to interpret the law not justify the views of a majority. The law in question was unconstitutional because it discriminated against one group of citizens. One of thereasons we need judges is to protect individuals from the tyranny of the majority. Once, this country had slaves (you can look it up), and we still would if the majority during that time had their way. and boo hoo on all those individual slaves that took exception.
