Pony Falls Into Pool After Getting Drunk on Fermented Apples

A horse in England wandered into a swimming pool after getting drunk on fermented apples Tuesday, the Daily Mail reports.

The pony, nicknamed "Fat Boy," escaped his stable in Newquay, Cornwall, on Tuesday and became intoxicated after munching on fallen, rotten apples, the paper said. He then fell into Sarah Penhaligon's pool.

"I was terrified, but when I took a closer look, I realized it was a horse," she told the paper.

It took rescuers two hours to build hay steps to help the animal get out of the pool, the Daily Mail said.

    I once saw the same thing happen to a flock of wild turkeys. It was hysterical watching them teeter around, walking into the apple tree and all. It was close to Thanksgiving, though, so I figured they deserved to tie one on.

    My German Shepherd LOVED drinking BEER!!! It got to a point once where I would crack open a bottle, he'd hear the "hiss" and start bugging me like I had food or something! And this was a 145-pound male Shepherd with cop dog parents so you can imagine how rough he could get when he wanted something! He was very gentle and patient with kids but with adults, he would bug you for beer! The most intelligent animal I have ever had! Don't know if he ever got drunk though…
