'Tattoo' Biopic In the Works

Hey, bitches, the plane is back. The plane!!!!
Steve Zaillian, the producer of American Gangster, is working on a movie called My Dinner With Herve, a biopic about French actor Herve Villechaize.
Herve was best known for the role of Tattoo in the iconic late 70/early 80's TV show, Fantasy Island.
According to Variety, former journalist Sacha Gervasi will write and direct the film. Gervasi conducted the last interview with the actor - just days before the actor committed suicide. Sad.
The former journo said, "Steve read the script as a short 10 years ago and always believed it would make a compelling feature. Herve wasn’t just a pop culture icon; he was one of the most charming, cultured and dangerous people I’ve ever met. His is the story of a unique misfit trying to find his place in the world."
In the last years of his life, Villechaize reportedly became alcoholic and depressive which led to erratic and sometimes violent behavior. He allegedly held his agent at gunpoint in a booth at a restaurant in Los Angeles!

Wow, I cannot believe he commited suicide. I used to watch Fantasy Island all the time when I was younger. But, I liked the show because of Ricardo Montelon! What a sexy man. Now he plays the grandfather on Spy Kids!

I once had an art professor who was good friends with Herve Villechaize back before he was an actor, when he was a bohemian painter and hung out with the NYC art crowd. I had no idea that he was anything else but an actor, but apparently, he had a pretty funky life before that.

Part of my childhood.
I LOVED Fantasy Island. Bring back an updated version, please! What a crazy show. It was the hotness (well that's what I remember anyway)
