It's a sad day for music.
Four Tops lead singer Levi Stubbs has passed away.
He died Friday in Michigan.
Stubbs was 72-years old.
Levi had been in ill health since being diagnosed with cancer in 1995. A stroke and other health problems led him to stop touring in 2000.
Of the original Four Tops members, only one survives - Abdul "Duke" Fakir.
Our thoughts are with Mr. Stubbs' family.

Motown/Detroit doesn't get enough credit for the sound, soul and influence it gave music. Sad to see the legends go. Do you really think we'll be listening to Green Day when they are in their 70's??

Re: UberBling – I must be of the 5% that know who they are (and I'm 34)…amongst other great R&B/DooWop acts like Ruth Brown, LaVerne Baker, Wynonie Harris, Big Joe Turner and others. But the Four Tops are Legend and Goddess rest Levi…he was and always will be great, for bringing that rhythm to the Tops!

It's sad - all the talented musicians and singers are dying off. Soon, there won't be anyone left except for talentless dickwads like Diddy, Kid Rock, most current bands, and every rapper out there.
