South Korea plans to help obese children pay for health club membership and other activities that can help them lose weight.
Health ministry official Chun Myung-sook said the rate of childhood obesity had tripled over the past three years due to a changing diet higher in fatty foods and a more sedentary lifestyle.
Under the government plan, elementary school students whose body mass index indicates obesity will be able to receive up to 40,000 won ($33.58) a month to help them bring their weight down.
"Kids won't be able to waste the money on eating sweets. We will give them electronic vouchers that can only be used in designated places," Chun said.
Costs to the government and the economy related to childhood obesity were 2 trillion won in 2006, the ministry said, making the voucher program cost effective.

People in the comments for that video were saying the boy had leukemia or cancer…and now Perez has just told him to lose weight. I'm actually speechless now lol that was sensitive of him.
I think this is a good idea.. I truthfully think there should be low-price gyms/ health centers EVERYWHERE.. it may encourage people to live healthier lifestyles, gym membership prices around here are outrageous.. Fitness equiptment in general is outrageous, if you don't have that much money to kick around it sucks that the most you could do is buy some crappy dvd and attempt to do it everyday… I think everyone who wants to should have the ability to go to the gym, take fitness classes, etc. Some people can't afford to pay atleast $100 a month to get in there on the regular..

Of course the kids in south korea are getting obese. They sit all day in school then go to hog wan (more school) after school. They don't have time to run around and play like kids should. Add this to the influx of western foods and BOOM obesity.

It is blatantly obvious that the only reason you lost weight was due to low self esteem, having to pay to get laid, and having no one love you (mainly due to your personality). I also think a part of that is because you enjoy being a prick to people, however you don't like to have people throw it back in your face. Perez (who is an adult and gorges on crap food) makes fun of a child, who is fed by their parents, and can't help their health problems. Now that you have lost weight, you feel like you have free reign, well you don't. You will always be that pathetic kid at heart, the one that didn't have talent, personality, etc…..but you weaseled in by gossiping and betraying, the lackey so to speak. Unfortunately though, it shows that you have gone beyond that when you are cruel to children. Are you reinacting the powerful position you didn't inhabit as a child? that little boy in the video is suffering from the side effects of cancer treatment, that is why he looks bloated, it is so sad that you would make fun of someone who is sick like that when it is not even their fault. cancer affects so many people and many of us either know someone who is battling with it right now or someone who has died or someone who has survived.
