"yes it may be hurtful, yes it may not be the best choice of words, yes it may be wrong in everyway shape or form" I don't condone using the word, I do think it's hateful, but I also think the way this PSA was done was not nearly as effective as it could of been, maybe it's just me, and that if they want to start preaching about using the word "gay" in replace of something maybe they should make PSA's about all the other hateful slurs people throw around.. And why is it okay for them to be rude to people for using the word "gay" while telling them it's rude? How about not being a sidebuster and keeping your stupid comments to yourself? I think butting into a strangers conversation and insulting them is a lot worse than someone saying something is gay.

The whole "that's so gay" was a fad ages ago… most people (at least where I live) have matured up and don't even say it any more.

i think these ads have a good message in mind but i don't really get them….the point they're trying to make is that "being gay" isn't a bad thing so why do you use it in a sentence to mean the same thing as something stupid or dumb. They always give examples of things that really are stupid though…"16 year old boy with a cheesy mustache"…that really is a dumb thing, though. Do I make any sense? Probably not

yes we have freedom of speech but the point is not to ban the use of the expression, its to send a message that it actually can be hurtful because often it doesnt even cross the mids of the people who use it. and if they could think twice about it, they would maybe stop using it.

The point is that it's offfensive to homosexuals for something that isnt their fault! If you are a 16 yr old with a gross pube-stach that IS your fault and thus that is grounds for someone to make fun of you. Its not nice to make fun of your pube-stach, but at least its not a cheap shot at the way someone was born.

I do believe that everyone needs to get along and be friends. But when it comes to having to be PC over EVERY LITTLE word, then that's too much. Just as people need to be sensitive to differences, minorities need to not be so sensitive and make everyone walk on egg shells.

Plus, if you say it while committing a crime against said person, you're in for a hate crime charge. If calling something "gay" is OK, then that person should also be OK with being insulted for their gender, race, religion, etc. Freedom of speech has it's consequences, y'all.

Our society is littered with things like this and the point is to teach people that they can say and do things that can be hurtful to one another and not even realizing it. Think about what you say before you say it. it would be highly inappropriate to use the "N" word like this or similar words. People should be aware and not be such ass holes like you.
