Marriage is a legal contract that has always been between a man and a woman. Two men or two women aren't the same thing as a man and woman. Why is it so bad to say that? Marriage was created as a starting place for a man and woman to begin a family. Yes, families come in all shapes and sizes. But the beginnings of a family (i.e. conception/birth) are dictated by NATURE, not civil liberties. What is wrong with a Civil Union that is just for same sex couples? Why does it have to have the 'marriage" label?
Different is beautiful. But in Obama's world there would be no A's or F's, only C's. However, I don't enjoy the views of either candidate. I think that this election will be a sad, sad day.

The facts are:
Obama and Biden do not support federal mandating gay marriage. They believe that gay marriage should be handled as a 'states rights' issues.
What does that mean?
It means that they are politicians to the bone, because no politician is ever going to say "I support gay marriage" on the trail. Ever. It just won't happen. They also wouldn't pull a Canada and make gay marriage legal overnight on their first day in office. Won't happen. Ever.
However, it does mean that they would allow the legalization of gay marriage in California and Conneticut. Gay marriage heading across the states, right now, is inevitable - Conneticut will speed that up, since it starts a precedent legally that banning gay marriage is unconstitutional.
McCain/Palin, however, oppose gay marriage on all levels. Obama/Biden are passive - which, to me as a bisexual feminist is a pain and not something I support on all levels. McCain/Palin are actively against gay marriage and would fight it on the states level.
