This is great. I am a foster parent and some of my kids have CASA workers come to the home and they are so good to the kids.

I have seen CASA workers do some great work and provide a constant in children's lives when the "system" often doesn't. Thanks for mentioning this great cause!

perez thank you so much for bringing recognition to CASA! I am a CASA in Philadelphia and really appreciate your acknowledgment of this important organization. If anyone is interested in volunteering or donating please contact your local CASA office!

I've worked with CASA before (I'm a foster care caseworker). Some are decent and good and actually listen to ALL of the facts of the case. Some already have preconceived notions as to what should happen before actually getting to know everything. In fact, Family Court judges in our county have ruled that CASA are not entitled to have full access to our records but can be in court and have access to the foster children and birth families in person, as they have misinterpreted and read (wrongly) intonotes that have been written about the case. I do support CASA and believe they can positively contribute to cases, however I do believe that more training and a more well rounded view of the situation and not just the child's word (and the parent's) would make a great difference. Maybe the donations can help this.
