I absolutley think you are misinformed, because I do live in illinois and Obama voted against a bill that was to provide immediate attention to failed abortions, do your homework before you tell someone else they are misinformed.
Just in case anyone didn't quite understand, prop 8 is in favor of just banning gay marriage within the California's state constitution. Palin is in favor of banning it in the nation's constitution- which means that no matter what ANY states decide (including those that are in favor of it) no gay marriage will be legal or binding.
Even McCain has noted that this is too extreme and is against the ideals of the republican party, which, fundamentally, believes that each state should choose for themselves on many social and financial issues.
It's not a good sign when your boss finds you too extreme on matters such as rape and gay marriage.

I agree with Palin. Marriage is between a man and woman. I think everyone has the right to love and be with whoever they want, but not married to them. I think their should be laws that give partners rights over health matters and other legal issues, but they shouldn't be able to get married.

Sarah Palin is trying to change OUR constitutional rights and push her own personal beliefs and shove it down America's throat. The constitution was created for a reason and if anyone changes anything, weather small or large, who's to stop them from changing another amendment? Who would really stop them?
The constitution is what our country is based on and is what gives us the beauty of speaking freely, having the choice to decide what religion we would like to practice, and what states "ALL MEN AND WOMAN ARE CREATED EQUAL". There is no fine print in the constitution that says "except for gays, people who aren't evangelists, people of color, etc, etc". Do you see were I'm getting at?

As far as abortion goes, I do believe the scenarios you are referring to are those of when abortion was ILLEGAL. I know you are obviously pro-life, which is great, I believe everyone is entitled to there own opinion, but if we were to criminalize abortion, the scenarios you thought were so cruel and inhumane would be of normal practice. There is a reason they legalized abortion, weather you like it or not, but A LOT of people were illegally getting abortions in very disgusting, horrible, unsanitary conditions, just of like the one you described. Now with the help of licensed medical doctors and different state regulations, it is done in a much more humane, sanitary and safe way for everyone involved.
Now let me guess, even though you are pro-life and hate the idea of anyone getting an abortion, you also agree with your party that sexual education is not something important? Let me also guess that you don't think giving out condoms (which can PREVENT any reason to GET an abortion) is something appropriate. We should all just be celibate until marriage because that's the christian way, right?

I think it's so refreshing to have someone so genuine and good-hearted to represent the gay community. After Rosie ODonnell, I think we were all reeling, but when someone isn't attacking you it's easier to listen.
Ellen stayed in the CLOSET until she was outed. NOW she's brave- but only because she found out no one gives a crap about her gayness. But she didn't volunteer to come out. When are the gay people going to get their OWN word for marriage and stop trying to use the one that is written for a man and a woman? They can then avoid the ENTIRE discussion. For many people it is the issue of the word "marriage"- just change the word. but NOOOOOOO. They have to act like they are a man and wife- which they are not. So get another word, give it the same rights legally, and get on with it. An apple is NOT an orange.
Oh- and OBAMA is not for gay marriage. But McCain is. SO why are you supporting Obama? It must not mean much to you anyway.
Further more, I think that gay marriage should be something that the citizens of the states should vote on…the president and vice-president have so many more pressing matters to deal with; why waste time on something that should be up to the people?!

He asked " Mommy, do some boys marry girls when they grow up?"
I said "Yes honey."

He asked " Why do people get married?"
I said " because they love each other."

It was a simple, easy conversation. It didn't change who my son is or who he percieves himself to be. It didn't alter his universe in any way shape or form. I don't understand what everybody is so afraid of.

It's only been during the past 4 years or so that you're not considered an absolute freak-show to be famous and gay. She, in fact, did a whole series on her show facing issues of coming out.
I don't remember all the factors that caused her to come out, but when she did, she faced it head-on. She could have easily hid or denied and let herself fade out, but she didn't.

When McCain was asked the same question on Ellen he said outwardly that he loves Ellen and thought she was a lovely woman but that his beliefs are that marriage is between a woman and a man..
