Ho'ing May Get A Little Easier in Frisco

Watch out, Amsterdam!
San Francisco could be the first major U.S. city to decriminalize prostitution.
On November 4th, the city's voters will decide whether or not to approve Proposition K, a measure that forbids local authorities from investigating, arresting or prosecuting anyone for selling sex.
Prop K wouldn't legalize prostitution, per se, because California state law still prohibits it.
However, the measure would eliminate the power of local law enforcement officials to go after prostitutes.
Proponents say the measure will free up $11 million the police spend each year arresting prostitutes and allow them to form a union of sorts that would help protect their rights and safety.
Are you a San Fran resident?
How are you going to vote and why?
Do U think prostitution should be legal???

watch penn and teller's bullshit episode on prostitution.
1st
thats nasty
I think that's awful- What the fuck is this world coming to?
The other San Francisco Treat?
It seems to be working fine in Europe, so why not?
Which is the ho? Poll isn't working. Selling sex should be legal, but there is so much free sex, who pays?
Re: Jim J – BAHAHA
GO HOS!
Yeah I usually have to pay GIRLS to touch my 5INCH anyway
Skanks like her need a good paying job with bene's too. That dog is looking all like "just run me over with your car, please? get me away from this hose."
Hahaha ridiculous.
Why not? People are never going to stop doing it. Let 'em get AIDS or a variety of STD's. I'm not a fan of the government having laws over what we do with our bodies. Just like drugs; make 'em legal. Let people kill themselves OD-ing. It's their choice. Let the police go after people that are committing crimes that are hurting other people like murderers, rapists, etc.
LOVE the pic - is that her future?
Re: Jim J – HAHAHA!! You're so witty….
Good one.
not working
Do it, then God will unleash his rath upon this modern day Sodom. a once great american city turned into a immoral shithole by the LEFT!
San Fran!! Better double up on the rubber !!!!!!!!!!!!!
What eva on the Aubry comments, that girl is HOT, haters!!!! PS I live in SF and their is no way I am voting to legalize prostitution!
Why is everyone so surprised that prostituion is about to become legal? We have a dumb ass ex beauty queen reject running for vice president. Anything can happen in the US! You can be totally useless and run the country…like Bush, McCain, and Palin. & One day if your lucky you can grow up and be hooker because that is legal too. America is fucking great!
I dont see Oday getting arrested..so isn't it already legal?
oh Jesus are you kidding? you people are sooooo closed minded sex is just that SEX. and if someone is willing to pay for it then why not make it legal? are you aware if we made it legal how much money in taxes just from that industry alone we would make and then plus we wouldn’t have to spend that $11 million. your morals are just that YOURS. get off your high horse and realize that this world is changing. there’s always been prostitution and will always be prostitution we might as well make some money off it to.
I live in SF, and am all for the legalization. It would make the streets safer having them off it, as well as safer for the girls…Aint nothin' sadder than seeing a woman standing on the corner selling herself with her face busted up…probably by a pimp. I live in the Mission.
Sweet! San Fran is much closer to me than Nevada!
CA resident, not SF. Either way I don't want any parts of the state allowing this. Although Amsterdam is a lot of fun, prostitution is gross. Just go to Vegas and see. It's the culture out there too
CAN HER BOOBS GET ANY FURTHER APART???…GROSS
It should be legal then you can control it and monitor it like they do in Nevada and in the Netherlands. Tax it, make sure the girls are disease free, and it's all good.
Moral crimes? Whatever. People have been payin ho's since the beginning of time. If a woman wants to rent her body to make some $$$, then that's her right. What business is it of the govt to say otherwise?
Just like with drugs, they need to legalize them all and control the sales.
Sex sells in this town but the girls give it up way too easy to waste you cash!!
i don't think there's anything morally wrong with selling or buying sex, i mean it's not the healthiest lifestyle it's actually pretty shitty i imagine, but sometimes life sucks.
THEY SHOULD DECRIMINALIZE WEED INSTEAD OF PROSTITUTION. DUMBASSES.
I Love San Fran, but this is just silly! I used to want to move there but now I will change my mind.
Re: WatchGuardian – AMEN!!!
hell yeah make them hos pay taxes like the rest of us.
This is great but doesn't even go far enough. It needs to be legalized, regulated, and taxed. If that were to happen America's deficit would instantly vanish. Same with drugs.
Re: McCain_is_Scum – The LEFT runs SF asswipe, do your homework before open your stupid Piehole!
Re: lalabred –
I'm a current resident and native to the Bay Area. I completely agree with this.
Re: Big Black Dick – Re: Big Black Dick –
I'm sure your dick is smaller than the GOP's chance of winning the election. & I know the left runs Sanfransico you num nutts. The point is anything can happen in this world…and even dumb fucks can run for VP. & One day you might even grow a set of balls. Go SUCK a cock you filth!
I live in SF and I'm torn on this….I'd like it if we really do free up $11M but on the other hand I don't think it should be legal. I know its been around since the beginng of time BUT still…I'd love it if SF could "clean up" a lil bit too but then again these woman are part of SF and its…dare I say charm lol See I'm torn so I have no clue how I wanna vote on this!!
you guys are idiots! Amsterdam is getting rid of legal prostitution because most of the prostitutes are SEX SLAVES and are in the country illegally. These people have been kidnapped and transported to other countries. and Sofia, you are truly dumb. this is about people getting into cars and fucking in back alley ways, not people going to brothels. A brothel you can tax, street prostitution you can not. you guys really have to start doing your research before you make an opinion. brothels are regulated, street prostitution is not, therefore it can not be taxed, especially because its still illegally in CA!
I'm a lifelong San Franciscan, and I am definitely voting Yes on K. To those who would immediately invoke names like Sodom, check your facts. Too much tax money is spent prosecuting prostitutes who are turned back to the streets on the same day they were arrested, and voting to decriminalize it (NOT legalize it) gives prostitutes the same rights as every other human being - the proposition also makes it mandatory for police to follow up on assault and battery cases (with the prostitutes as victims) that are normally ignored. A vote for Yes on K is a vote to treat humans like humans.
eeeerrrrrrrrrr, pump your brakes Frisco……….lets take one step at a time and Legalize Marijuana first.
There are benefits … less pimp abuse to the women, better health care for the women - and thus their johns (which in turn is better for the john's wives), less drug abuse, etc. On the other hand - yuck.
I was born in San Francisco, and I have just recently moved back. The majority of residents (myself included) are for it. It is not simply a question of making prostitution "legal", it is about freeing up funds that can be better spent in other areas (as Perez said).
PS-
Don't call it Frisco.
:)
I am an SF native and am all for this.
To those that would reconsider moving here just because of this, wonderful. San Francisco does not need you and your narrow vision.
To those who would take away from SF's Great American city status, you disgust me. Have you any concept of my city's fine age old reputation? Half the streets downtown are named after the great madam's of the gold rush.
Read up before you spew out.
Re: hilly – Exactly! Mark Twain said it first and that liquor store on Divis repeat's the sentiment.
haha, i hope california breaks off into the ocean.
People need to stop being so phoney about morality and they need to stop criminalizing people's private sexual behavior. Here's the thing. It is stupid to make it illegal. It is not going away. It has been around since the beginning of time. If it was legal, it could be controlled. It could be taxed, the people could be required to take physical exams and be tested and it could be limited to certain places. There'd be licensing and all sorts of ways to control it. If you keep it illegal, it is out of your control. I think we are really a bunch of dumb asses here in the good old USA. I love my country, it's the people who are really stupid.
Also, the laundromat on Hayes!
Why is it that if i want to support myself using my body to dig ditches, thats okay, but if I want to use my body to sell sex, that's not okay. It's my body, and I should be allowed to decide how I use it. If you think it's 'gross', then don't do it. Your opinion should not determine how I live. If a woman doesn't feel degraded by it, then neither should anyone else. It's not about you.
This is an interesting issue.
Financially, decriminalizing prostitution is a smart move, and there's no question about that.
As for as morality- This is America. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions on what is morally right or wrong, so long as it isn't hurting anyone else. And the government shouldn't be allowed to enforce laws that are rooted in religious beliefs. It's nice to see that San Fransisco is migrating away from that.
I guess my concern would be that if I lived in San Fransisco, I wouldn't want to walk down the street and have prostitutes soliciting me, nor would I want my kids to be able to see that kind of activity.
If the city lays out guidelines for how hos can do business, than why not decriminalize. But if it means that hos can just walk up to me while I'm walking through the grocery store checkout line and ask me if I want to fuck, than I'm not so supportive.
Re: banjoo – who are you talking to?
hooker~$200, HIV for housewives~free
Re: sanfrannie –
-
*ahem* the cheapest of hookers in Amsterdam might fall into this category. Might. The very worst Dutch hooker I ever saw - and sister, I've seen plenty - still "outclassed" by lightyears the dime-a-dozen crack ho's I've seen staggering around EVERY U.S. city I've been to. (by the by - in countries like Holland, strung out crackheads would NOT be able to facilitate their habits via prostitution)
-
when you've got a bit of coin to drop, you quickly find out the difference between a "hooker" and a "prostitute"
Re: amandadixon420 – We (san francisco) HAVE already decriminalized marijuana, just to let ya know…dumb ass
Of course it should be legalized. The US should follow Holland/Amsterdam on a lot of things but the holy rollers have their thumbs up their asses here.
It was decriminalised in New Zealand about 5 years ago and its made things so much safer, its always going to happen so why not decriminalise it- that way at least the govt benefits from taxing them as well XD
san fran wouldn't be the first city you tard, pahrump, nv has legal brothels!
as a san francisco resident i will definitely vote to decriminalize prostitution. i do not i agree with prostitution, but living in this city it is clear that it isn't stopping. when prostitutes are criminalized they do not receive any sort of rehabilitation, usually ending up where they got picked up. i think it's a waste of the police force and money because if people are willing to sell sex, there are always going to be people willing to buy.
I would definitely vote yes. Think about how overcrowded the prison system is, and how many inmates are there for measly minor offenses. Prostitutes, stoners, and taggers are keeping the american justice system from functioning properly, thus, allowing the real criminals to slip through the cracks. And plus, eliminating the penalties for prostitution may also lift the stigma of hos in society, thus making them more accepted and protected.
Legalize it and tax those whores.
Gross it should absolutely be illegal! Whats next legalizing pedophilia? WTF?! All those diseases that will be spread from gross men sleeping with these whores then passing them on to their wives and then sleeping with other men etc shit would get out of control. Nast. If we legalize one thing then everyone will say it's their own personnel right to do whatever they THINK is right and want it to be legalized. We can't have people out doing whatever the fucking want shit would get out of hand.
By decriminalizing prostitution you are basically eliminating prostitution. Think about it. If it is decriminalized there will be a rapid enrollment to this profession. After the initial wave, people will stop buying, and girls will stop working due to high competition.
Do I have to make a LEAVE AUBREY ALONE VIDEO???
Don't make it come to that people !!!
SF Res here and I'm undecided! Cons are pretty scary tho … don't really want all the tricks n pimps from Oak-town rollin' through SF!
Someone also made the comment that it may be easier to start smuggling sex workers from other countries and exacerbate these kinds of problems …
others say it will have the opposite effect - allow cops to regulate thereby eliminating these types of rings.
Who knows… I need more facts or studies before making a decision
Re: amandadixon420 – They DID decriminalize weed in S.F. Last year (yay!) I live here and have no problem with decriminalizing prostitution.
Re: nike9123 –
That's probably because you live in some lame ass state and don't know any better
Prostitution is legal in Australia. There are no governmet funds tied up in warresting 'innocent' people seeking paid sex in private. No one seems to care, there are brothels everywhere. They are restricted to certain areas and requirements. Sex workers have ights and they are looked after. After all, it is just a way to make a living and also keep horny men off the streets!
Just because you don't like or agree with something doesn't mean it should be illegal. Also, one more point, these women are not all on drugs and living on the streets. They are mothers, sisters and girlfriends, students, lawyers, and business women and men. And I am taliking about the workers not the clientelle. Step back and take a deep breath. Perhaps this is a very good thing if managed correctly. Go San Francisco on a ground breaking move.
Legalizing prostitution (and weed & hasj) is working pretty well over here in Holland. The reason it works is because by making it legal you are taking it away from the criminal environment and everything that goes with that.
Tax payers end up paying less for the police to keep busting these places up repeatedly.
It has also helped the woman in many many ways. Far less illegal woman, far less forced prostitution. and woman who have been doing this for years can even get health insurance now and their income is taxed like any other working person.
Re: Trace-O-in-Oz –
spot on, everybody associates prostitutes and prostidudes with druggies at the street corners, But most sex workers are indeed students, moms etc.
And for all people who are freaking out…chill… it is just a job (and a tough job).
I don't eat meat because i don't like it, doesnt mean i think all butcher shops should be closed for selling 'disgusting' meat
here's the thing, prostitution is going to happen one way or another, these women deal with so much shit, that if it can be legalized so that they're protected from being beaten, or killed, like many of them are, then i'm all for it!
i live in sf and no wayyyyyy should it be legal. its wrong and disgusting and instead of doing this, they should try and figure out something else instead. but heyy liberals run this city…so anything could happen. i wouldn't be surprised if it became legal. sf is so damn hippie!
I think that if they do decide to legalize it they need to put some kind of limitation on it like having to get a license by getting tested for diseases and drug use. All though it is not the most wonderful choice of career, in this economy some people, men and women and forced to support there family any way that they can find!!!!!!! Just keep it safe , that's all
Prostitution is the oldest job in the world. It will always be a part of our society. Why not embrace it and protect the girls and boys out there by having a safe work place. I think it would a GREAT opportunity for California and for the US to be the second country to legalize prostitution in the wold. Go future, go! Let's make the world a SAFER place for everyone!
what about the millions of children who get forced into protitution at a young age ?
i live in the city and no way am i gonna stand by letting hoes get off that easy just so the police, who abide by the law every chance they get, can get some extra money. fuckkkk that
Legalizing it means it can be monitored and regulated, in a good way. Mandatory STD testing - the most important plus of legalizing it.
Re: ap2007 – Well said. However there is no separation of church and state in this country. They are one and the same, but as a result there is some seriously easy money that could be made (the deficit would damn near disappear) TAX THE CHURCHES!!!!!
i like how you used aubrey o'day for this post. HIGHLARIOUS!
and ummm prostitution should be legal and so should marijuana
FUCK IT!
Re: WatchGuardian – WatchGuardian for prez '08!
Frisco fran implores you to "Say no to hoes" and keep Tara Reid OUT of our fair city!
The only reason prostitution is illegal because the whores don’t pay taxes on the money they get for fucking and sucking. As long as you give Uncle Sam a cut no one will care then.
I'm a big ole ho and it should be legal.. do not waste any more time and money busting the pros, sending them to jail… make them take Hep and Hiv tests… it would make life a little bit better.
regardless of your sexual orientation sex is no joke. It is an emotional connection that we as humans have the great ability to share in. It is sad that someone would compromise this gift and sell their soles. We as a society should never sit by and condone this as ok. I am one liberal mother fucker but for reals I draw the line on this crazy shit.
Re: nike9123 – I love california as I have lived here all my life, however your comment is the winner winner chicken dinner.
I live in New York but I am a registered voter in SF (just moved to NYC) Im voting yes!
Definitely it should be legal… imagine all the tax revenue just Paris Hilton would bring in!
Re: lefty lady –
Agreed totally.
And you know in Las Vegas the legal prostitutes have a much, much, MUCH lower rate of STI's. Once it's legal, it can be regulated, and the women and their customers can be better protected. And it can be taxed!
Prostitution is legal in VEGAS. HELLO? That's a major US city. Come on Mario's people - get it together.
Prostitution should absolutely be decriminalized! As an SF resident I completely support it…It's about time!
Sex workers have no rights! If they are raped or in danger they can't call the police because they will be penalized for being a sex worker. Instead they have to rely on pimps for "protection" which sucks because most of them beat the women anyway as well as make them pay them a portion of their earnings and utilize their "services" whenever they want. Not cool.
Decriminalizing prostitution could give these women/men a chance to organize a union and have some rights/ protection without using a pimp!
The truth of the matter is that prostitution will always be prominent in San Francisco, I can't remember a single time I've walked/ driven around the Tenderloin/ Nob Hill area and not seen a prostitute. So why not give them some rights?
And as for people who are scared or being solicited…get a sense of humor, most of those girls/ guys do. They're not going to strangle you with their weave unless you're fucking with them.
xo
HAHAHA! I love how you used a pic of that over medically altered chica from Danity whatever. As a conservative, I think prostitution should be decriminalized NOT legalized. Let the local and state governments decide their own laws on the issue. Put it on a ballot and let the people vote. But srsly, with all the sluts giving it away does anyone really need to pay for it? Head to the bar or club and pick up a super inebriated club whoor and you're in like Flynn.
If men were less horney, then there was not such a big question for hookers,
So give the hookers a window, the streets are cold and dirty!
errr…who cares?
Undecided?
Are these the same idiots still undecided about the election??
Come on people it's YES or NO, it doesn't take too much brain power.
Now, there's a bright political plan. The profession is NOT going away, so run it like a business and get it off the street.
~..~
vote for it san fran, so Perez doesn't have to scour back alleys lookin for them.
Re: sopita – werd!
Leave it San Francisco. They're a bunch of loons.
Re: pamelakiss –
thanks Pamelakiss….I forgot that most of streets downtown are named after madam's of the gold rush….in fact my great great great aunt owned a brothel in the downtown area around 1915….i love that SF is full of all kinds of great history.
