      He looks sooo cute. Hilarious but cute. We take our cat to the vet every summer to get his fur cut. The "lion cut" as they refer to it. I know they look dreadful at the beggining but the fur WILL grow back soon

      He is soooo cute! No he does not look ugly, I have a poodle mix (he is gay too like you!) too I shaved him down last week. You should have shaved His head down more, its scary at first but it looks more proportional and grows out better! :)

      Perez, just a couple of things: Teddy is a Golden Retriever crossed with a Poodle. There is no such breed as a "Goldendoodle". You simply have a mutt with a fancy name. The sad thing is Teddy's parents were unlikely to have been hip scored or PRA tested: in essence, reviewed for any genetic diseases they may carry.

      In the images I've seen of Teddy, he would appear to have a mixed coat (part retriever part Poodle) and it's little wonder he's matting. What you may not realise (and what your groomer may not tell you) is how incredibly PAINFUL it is for him. Read a few internet forums and you'll start to get a better idea of the enormous cruelty and discomfort you're putting your dog through.

      Teddy needs to be groomed every second day and it's a routine that shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. We know you're busy - if you're too busy to look after your dog like a responsible person, pay someone to do it on your behalf. It's absolutely crucial that you take a slicker brush through his coat to remove the dead hair in his undercoat so it doesn't knot and pull against his skin. You then need to run a comb through his coat to remove knots further up the hair shaft. If you don't know how to do it, get a groomer to show you - Teddy still has longer hair on his head and tail section and you should get into a routine with it starting now.
