Yesterday, Brit trainwreck (former pop star turned reality TV whore) Kerry Katona showed up a hot slurring mess to This Morning, and hosts Fern and Philip pegged her for an alkieHOlic.
Now that we've had a day to talk about it, Kerry's pissed and has a few (Rambling) words to say in response to all the hoopla:
"I haven't got a booze problem. I haven't taken any drugs either. I'm drinking no more than I ever have done before and no more than anyone else. Don't get me wrong, I like a drink and all last week on holiday I was pissed as a fart. But why not? I'm only 28 years old for God's sake.
"Why would I go on a TV programme pissed, do I look stupid? I'll never go on that programme again, I'm extremely annoyed at how they made me look. They're meant to be nice people and I've been interviewed by them many times before. But I've got an illness and they should appreciate that. It's all down to the amount of tablets I'm on for my bi-polar disorder. I'm fine now, I was only like I was this morning because I took my tablets too late last night."
Her husband, Mark, confirmed that she did indeed take her crazy pills too late.
We don't care what you did Kerry, just keep it coming!!!

Hey Perez, Calling them "crazy pills" is just like condemning someone for being gay. If she truly has bipolar affective disorder, it is a terrible affliction that no one would choose for themselves. I am bisexual and I didn't chose to be that way so I don't want to be treated differently because of it. You are gay and are promoting a campaign to stop the use of "that's so gay" - stigma against people with mental health problems is just as severe as stigma against GLTB communities. Saying she is taking "crazy pills" is derogatory, regardless if she was drunk or not during the interview. Medication for severe and enduring mental health problems can cause terrible side effects which are not something the patient chooses. You could be contributing to her ceasing her medication which would be a disaster. I love you, but you should practice what you preach. This is not something to joke about.

sorry perez, I wasn't on here yesterday, but my dog got fukard hit by a car the night before fukard yesterday and it ran into the woods and we searched half the night and all day yesterday before we found Shorty. he heard our fukard voices and fukard
barked and finally came out of the fukard woods. I fukard cried for
2 fukard days and I'm still fukard crying. he's fine and his leg is swelled up. there is a God in heaven.

Side-effects seen in the early phase of treatment
Dry mouth, tremor, stiffness of body, slurred speech, rolling up of the eyeballs, excessive salivation, forgetfulness, disturbance in the menstrual cycle in females and delayed ejaculation in males.
It is not necessary that every patient develops all these symptoms or all side effects appear in the same patient. Any patient may develop any of the above side-effects and the therapist can easily treat these if contacted as soon as the problem is perceived.

Can someone please point out to Kerry that antidepressants and/or mood stabilizers take approximately 2 weeks to have any effect and similarly they take a week or so to get out of your system. They have a cumulative effect. So if she forgot to take her mood pills the night before it would have zero effect on her behavior the next day. In other words, she was totally bullshitting. She was pissed or high or whatever. Nice work passing the blame to the TV show and the happy pills Kerry. Take responsibility for your own bad behavior.
She was on Allan Carrs Celebrity Ding Dong last night (i think it is live) and she had that same slurring problem, just not AS bad
Your probably not meant to take the medication and drink alcohol.

I was on a very heavy antidepressant and when I didn't take it for one day I was dizzy and felt like I was underwater (anyone that has taken effexor can attest to that). Really, unless you have been on this type of medication, you should not make such a blanket statement.

Uhhh…. you're not supposed to drink when you're taking medication for bi-polar disorder. it cancels the meds out, depending on what you're taking of course, but most anti-depressant medications are CANCELED OUT BY ALCOHOL YOU IDIOT.

Thats not true. My friend takes efexor for anxiety and she suffers badly the next morning if she forgets a tablet. That said Kerry is crazy binge drinking while on medication. I can't believe she said "Do I look stupid", yes Kerry you look bloody stupid. She rambles on about her bad childhood giving her problems, crap knows how her own kids are going to grow up with a mother like her.

Re: wtf? – worked in it for years donkeyfucker and all of the people Ive treated not one has displayed those behaviors because of their meds. The effects of bi polar do vary from person to person but meds side effects are consistent. She was not suffering form med side effects on that show.

Perez I don't think you should stigmatize people who are on medication for mental health reasons by calling them "crazy pills". People with mental health problems have enough trouble getting acceptance without being labelled as needing "crazy pills"

Re: Missy McGee – agree re the effexor - I was on it for three years and it was a c*nt to get off… Having said that, Kerry's supposedly on Chlorpromazine, which is an antipsychotic and works differently to effexor. IMO she was drinking with it, which is a big no-no.
I´am bi-polar, and I can be off my meds for days, and I still dont act like that. She was drunk or maybe taken to many sedatives.

if she is on an antipsychotic and took it too late the night before that would perfectly explain her behavior. my seroquel knocks me out for about ten hours, and if i'm woken up too early i can hardly move, my speech is extremely slurred, and it absolutely seems as though i'm drunk. and that is that.
