Is Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole suffering from some sort of inferiority complex?
The X Factor judge recently revealed that she loses it when pop hopefuls tell her their ambition is to be “the new Spice Girls”.
According to UK media reports, Cole said, “I think: ‘Piss off!’ We’ve been around for six years – they were around for 18 months! We recognise what the Spice Girls did, but it really annoys me when you meet girls who go: ‘We wannabe the next Spice Girls.’ Yes, they had worldwide domination, but they fell out, bitched about each other and went their separate ways. We’ve been around all this time, fighting to climb each step of the ladder, putting our hearts into everything.”
We wonder if Cheryl is jelly of Posh Becks.

I think you'll find shes pretty much the biggest and most loved celebrity in the UK at the moment and that Girls Aloud are statistically the biggest girl band in UK history and are currently heading for another No.1 spot this sunday and there 19th consecuetive top 10 hit.

But Cheryl and Posh are very comparable because they are somewhat similar. Girls Aloud and SG have different sounds. SG we're more bubble gum pop and GA are more modern/dance pop. And GA also perform their own music (duh…) and promote them themselves. I can't name all of Spice Girls singles so whats your point?

And I agree that why do people always wanna "be like the Spice GIrls" why not Girls Aloud. Girls Aloud are the biggest girl band in UK Chart History. Therefore the Biggest Girl Band in the UK. Yes they don't have global success but who cares. Girls Aloud have been critically acclaimed in the highest of places e.g. Guardian, Observer Music Monthly, NME. They keep producing hit after hit and Cheryl actually (to whoever said she is a thug) is one of the most humble and down to earth people I have ever met. She knows where she came from and is grateful to have had this opportunity. So wise up.
