Earlier in the week, William 'Captain Kirk' Shatner slammed George Takei in a vicious YouTube video rant, saying he was baffled not to be invited to Sulu's wedding and that he has a sickness. Yeah, whatever!
Well, Mr. Sulu chatted with Entertainment Tonight and responded to what he called Billy Boy's 'silliness'.
It turns out that Shatner WAS invited to the wedding.
In fact, George has reached out to Bill a number of times only to be met with Shatner's 'twists and crumples' to those kind gestures.
Sulu issued Bill another invitation during the interview.
He'd like his old co-star to join him and millions of other Californians in their fight against Prop 8.

For what it is worth, I have spent time with both George and his husband Brad. You could not hope to meet two nicer gentlemen or see a more doting couple. Extending an invitation to Shatner to his wedding illustrates the graciousness and class of the man I know. Shatner's behavior, well, is about what I expect of him as well. I was pleased to see the castmates that truly mattered the most to George - Nichelle and Walter - stand up with him at his wedding.
Much happiness to them both. I wish I lived in California so I could have the opportunity to vote No on 8.

With all the crap going on in the world, why is this so important? I like both these guys-some of my most wonderful memories growing up involved them-especially when my little brother was alive and watching tv with me. Please don't carry on about this anymore. Life is way too short. Be happy people.
I watched George on a program-I think it was "Inside Edition" specifically say that he was inviting the other cast members from Star Trek, but that he would not invite William as he would only invite his friends. He may have invited him later, but I heard him say that William was not invited. George's remarks were quite hostile: I can understand why William was offended. I also think a 40 year old grudge could be indicative of mental illness, though not psychosis. A person can usually let go and learn forgiveness in that many years. Maybe George was jealous of William's stardom?
