Prepping Generation #2 of Damon Do-Gooders

As far as Matt Damon's concerned, his lucky kids will learn and care about the less fortunate people in the world from a young age.
He revealed at the OneXOne children's charity event in San Francisco Thursday night that we may see his daughters on some of his overseas humanitarian missions:
"The way you have to parent them is to show them the world. Explaining the world can only go so far. You can read about devastation every morning – it's on the front page of the newspaper – but when you actually go there and see it, you realize this isn't something you can turn the page on."
That's cool.
The Damon kids can hang with the Pitt-Jolie clan, who'll probably be at those do-gooding projects as well.

Matt Damon has a one sided, flat earth opinion of the world. Hopefully he will expand his children's view.
nothing like depressing the ever loving CRAP out of your kids- as if they are to blame for everything and need to be responsible for the WORLD. If you raise your kids with love and attention and some charitable family activities, they'll GET it. BUT to burden your kids with a constant depressing message that they need to correct the WORLD because they are so lucky- well, that is just mean spirited. No children can live with that message. And they shouldn't have to. Until we are all the same color, intelligence, education, motivation, etc, then there will be people who aren't very fortunate. That's the way it goes. I hope he was just trying to sound pompously benevolent. I'll bet matt damon never bought a sandwich for a street person when he was 5.

Re: Cherry Bomb – Give your brain a rest and stop trying to analyze this. He's trying to do a good thing for his family - and the world, in a small way. Are you trying to say that because we aren't the same color, intelligence, education or motivation and there will always be those less fortunate, that nobody should give a crap about those that are? MAN, Matt Damon has a beautiful wife. She seems really down to earth, non-celeb, but classy and just has that effortless beauty going on. They seem like a really great family. Good for them, wish them all the luck.

I love Matt Damon, He is a great actor and a generous man, He has a beautiful family that he is very proud of and takes excellent care of! He is an inspiration!
Its good that their raising their children the right way. I hate it when I see spoiled little rich kids walking around everywhere especially school…
Oh yes, because I can afford to fly my family all over the world! If I were filthy rich I would be a great helper of those less fortunate too! But Im limited to volunteering at the local food pantry. Sorry Matt, but not everybody can show their kids the world!!
