Quote of the Day

wenn2138404.jpg

"We just let things get completely out of hand," he said of his own party's rule in the past eight years. Spending, the conduct of the war in Iraq for years, growth in the size of government, larger than any time since the Great Society, laying a $10 trillion debt on future generations of America, owing $500 billion to China, obviously, failure to both enforce and modernize the [financial] regulatory agencies that were designed for the 1930s and certainly not for the 21st century, failure to address the issue of climate change seriously."

- John McCain on George W. Bush's presidency, in a new interview with The Washington Times

Wow, he's really trying hard to distance himself from the repubs and Bush. Won't work though.

I'm 14 and can't vote until the next election, but I'm smart enough to realize that McCain isn't all words… he's actually proved he can make a difference. This quote says he realizes the current administration screwed up. But I think he has the best plan/background for real change.

Atleast McCain can acknowledge and take responsibility for part of the problems within the party, though he's been trying to fix them for awhile. Unlike the Dems, Deny, Deny, Deny.

I honestly think John Mccain is more educated and wise than Obama. And your VP joe promised America a HUGE terrorist attack if obama wins. what kind of idiot would promise that ?
      Obama's VP.
and honestly i think Sarah palin is more educated and smart than Obama. But others are as well entitled to have their own opinion.
I do love, however. that you cant say one negative thing about McCain, only that he picked a women VP. that’s it ? well its hell of a lot better than what Obama plans to do with America.
I find the liberals comebacks very amusing that they don’t have anything to use against the Mccain campaign only that he is old. which is defiantly a good thing. the older the wiser and he is very healthy and driven. im very excited for Mccain to win. but i wont rub it in your faces, that would be incredibly idiotic.
The hypocrisy alone Is laughable when examining the Liberals.
Now remember I used to support Obama and gave each candidates a chance, examining both left wing and right wing views and opinions Combined with my own. In that process ive also discovered an incredible hypocrisy only among Liberals. most do not practice what they preach and these incredibly uneducated comments mean nothing, except that its mostly the Liberals who cant spell correctly.
      Stay in school BITCHES! xxoxoxoxoxoxox

Yes, we need change but we do not need Obama's change. McCain will be better and have better people than Bush. Maybe it's your wealth that gets spread.

OMG Perez. STOP WITH THE POLITICS already! I am so sick of coming over here and seeing more Barack PR. Last I looked I thought this was a celebrity blog. I'm headed somewhere fun (which this site USED to be). If I want the NEWS I'll turn on CNN. Sheesh!

There's a whole lot of blame to go around. After 9/11, Bush was really between a rock and a hard place. He was damned if he did, and damned if he didn't. I think overall he is a very good & decent person who just did what he thought was the right thing to do at the time. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Americans and a lot of the rest of the world who aren't bright enough to see that. I've been around for a very long time, and the American society went through a drastic change in the late 60's and 70's. The US wanted close to nothing to do with WWII until the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor, and then it was no holds barred. There were more manytimes more casualties in one hour of The Battle of the Bulge then there have been total since this current war started. That's the difference between 2 generations ago and this one. Back then, you come over here and fuck with us, we're going over to your place and are going to kick your ever loving ass to pulp, and aren't going to blink twice about it. Now America is full of a bunch of complete wimps and panzies who are foaming at the mouth because we have troops over in the Middle East after those radicals came over here and hyjacked several of our commerical airlines took out 2 several large buildings killing several thousand of our people. And anybody saying that was an underground group who had nothing to do with the Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan goverment, think again. Those people knew exactly what they were doing.

    14. 14

At least he admitted to his parties failed agenda. The Republican party is a total disgrace. They are so busy wiping corporate America's ass…It has turned into one HUGE trainwreck.

      Regards,

    15. 15

Like I've said before.. in absolutley no support of either canidate winning this election.. just because GW sucks some severe fucking asshole, it DOESN'T mean that all republicans are fucking assholes, to lump them all in one pile is called, plain and simple, being a fucking hypocrite.. There have been great rebublicans in office, there have been democrats in office that weren't this "miracle" we all claim them to be.. I know a couple of African American men who are crack dealers and lovely white hating racists, but do I judge every African American male in that light..? NO.. I am wise enough to differentiate, I can give EVERYONE an equal opportunity to be judged on their own personalities and their own actions.. when you lump all Republicans into one pile all you are doing is basically the same thing.. Just remember to keep that in mind ABOUT BOTH CANIDATES PEOPLE ;)

      =============================
LMAO. Barack Obama graduated with Honors from Harvard, and has a Law Degree. He was the President of the Harvard Law Review. ~ McCain went to the U.S. Naval Academy, and graduated in 894th place out of 899 students. The guy bombed at Military College for crying out loud, and that was FIFTY years ago in 1958. And I don't think you mean to say that McCain is wise ~ more like wiseguy.

Re: John Mccain will save America – Hey, genius. Copy and paste much? You posted this exact same post on the next story, genius. The one about Sarah Palin cursing the hockey game? Well, I'm going to copy and paste my response to you in that post, too. Here goes…

It's clear that you are certainly not as educated as you claim McCain to be, based on your grammatical errors. In a forum where you are judged simply by your typing ability, one would assume you would carefully type your post, particularly if you were making a point regarding the education of a Presidential candidate. Obama went to Harvard and Columbia. McCain's daddy got him into the Naval Academy 100 years ago. Does anyone know what McCain studied while he was there? No. You can't find it anywhere when you do research on it. What was your major, genius? English Literature? Law? Journalism? With your intelligent ability to convey a point clearly, I would think you studied a major in which you could put that ability to good use? Please, do not try to make a point about the Presidential candidate's eduction when you obviously do not have one. Use spell/grammar check during your next post, genius.

I'm going to go and look for your next copy and paste post on the next political story Perez posts, ok genius? You are so smart. Your comment has really enlightened me. Thanks, genius! See you on the next post!

Re: wetdog Oh lawrd lmao.. I agree with you on everything but the "In a forum where you are judged simply by your typing ability" bit lol.. yes, when criticizing the education of anyone else, perhaps you should pay attention to what and how the fuck you're typing to save yourself from looking like a total douchebag.. but this is PerezHilton lol He doesn't even spell check his own fucking blog for Christ's sake ;) I know I type like a total and complete fucking retard when I'm on here and I don't really care in the slightest if people judge my intelligence based on that shit.. For those of us that are just not as naturally educated as you ;) It isn't worth the time and effort lol If it was somewhere that mattered maybe but seriously.. why bother here lol You make it look easy tho ;) I'm jealous lol

    29. 29

Re: wetdog – you're all wet…experience is more important in a crisis than eloquence and words. Obama may be an excellent orator and a manipulator of words but his resume is very thin. During the primaries, both Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton both said that Obama didn't have the experience to President. But, now they support him. I guess lack of experience doesn't apply to this candidate. It's political party over substance. That is not change…it's business as usual.

    30. 30

I think what he says is true. Finance reform is the way to go, or political figures will continue to spend. Interesting how he looks at the facts and figures rather than calling Bush a failure and putting it all on him, like the President of the United States even has the power to cause the economy to fall (he doesn't, the congress and the people do). But then, again, he talks a lot of shit about Obama…but who would bring out the dirty laundry if McCain doesn't? I love when politicians fling poo.

McCain has flip flopped weekly on what his "plans" are! He got no idea of what to do and neither do his infighting advisers. The man is just out of control and the American public knows this.

If you are thinking of voting for McCain, why not make your vote count and write in Ron Paul. At least he has spoken up on the mess. The Republican Party is broken so if you are Conservative at least make a protest vote this time.

Alright, I am not voting for McCain nor Nobama, although if I were forced to choose between the two, it'd be McCain. I was just wondering, all of you who act like Obama has it "in the bag", what about…….

"McCain was down just 5 points in the Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released Sunday, with Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) leading by 49 percent to 44 percent among likely voters in the daily tracking poll, which has a margin of error of 2.9 points."

Just saying! It's never a good idea to get TOO comfy. Don't count those chickens just yet……..

    43. 43

Would McCain have even said this if he were ahead in the polls? Doubtful. Desperate, last-ditch effort to look all "maverickey."

    44. 44

Obama probably does, he'd rather tell people what they want to hear to get a vote than speak the truth.

Re: John Mccain will save America – Your judgement says quite a lot about your intelligence.

*Graduated 894th out of 899 students.

*John McCain was a Keating Five member was accused of corruption in 1989 and was later criticized for having poor judgment in a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis in the 80s and early 90s.

*At least three of McCain's GOP colleagues have gone on record to say that they consider him temperamentally unsuited to be commander in chief.

*He has a Napoleon complex, in his own words: "My small stature motivated me to fight the first kid who provoked me." He repeatedly blew up in the face of his commanding officer… the kind of insubordination that would have gotten any other midshipman kicked out. Midway though his final year, McCain faced expulsion because of excessive demerits. After his mother intervened, however, the academy's commandant stepped in. Calling McCain "spoiled" to his face, but nonetheless issued a reprieve, scaling back the demerits.

*The summer after his sophomore year, cruising with a friend near Arlington, McCain tried to pick up a pair of young women. When they laughed at him, he cursed them so vilely that he was hauled into court on a profanity charge.

    58. 58

Re: John Mccain will save America
*Under the code of conduct, POWs are bound to give only their name, rank, date of birth and service number — and to make no statements disloyal to their country. "I'll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital," he later admitted pleading with his captors. In fact, his wounds were attended to only after the North Vietnamese discovered that his father was a Navy admiral. What has never been disclosed is the manner in which they found out: McCain told them.

*He's a liar - although McCain stresses in his memoir that he married Cindy three months after divorcing Carol, he was still legally married to his first wife when he and Cindy were issued a marriage license from the state of Arizona. The divorce was finalized on April 2nd, 1980.

*In April 2007, when a voter at a town-hall session asked him about his policy toward Tehran, McCain responded by singing, "bomb bomb bomb" Iran. The loose talk was meant to incite the GOP base, but it also aggravated relations with Iran, whose foreign minister condemned McCain's "jokes about genocide" as a testament to his "disturbed state of mind" and "warmongering approach to foreign policy."

    59. 59

Re: John Mccain will save America
*In September 2002, McCain assured Americans that the war would be "fairly easy" with an "overwhelming victory in a very short period of time." Today, however, McCain insists that he predicted a protracted struggle from the outset. "The American people were led to believe this could be some kind of day at the beach," he said in August 2006, "which many of us fully understood from the beginning would be a very, very difficult undertaking."

*his own statements show that he has been on both sides of a host of vital issues: the Bush tax cuts, the estate tax, waterboarding, hunting down terrorists in Pakistan, kicking Russia out of the G-8, a surge of troops into Afghanistan, the GI Bill, storing nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain, teaching intelligent design, fully funding No Child Left Behind, offshore drilling, his own immigration policy and withdrawal timelines for Iraq.

      Shall I go on?

First of all, you don't know what you are talking about. Obama intends to reduce taxes for low-income families and singles, which will put those dollars into local economies, as well as improve the standard of living for the working class. That is most of the population, so the benefits are astronomical. You don't know shit about economics, and neither does Bush or McCain.
      ==============================

    71. 71

"The Tax Policy Center, a non-partisan research group, has extensively analyzed both candidates' tax plans and published a report on their findings.

"The Obama plan would reduce taxes for low and moderate-income families, but raise them significantly for high-money earners," the report concluded. "By 2012, middle-income taxpayers would see their "after-tax income" rise by about 5 percent, or nearly $2,200 annually. Those in the top 1 percent would face a $19,000 average tax increase — a 1.5 percent reduction in after-tax income."

Given this analysis, McCain abbreviates Obama's plan too much. Obama's tax plan includes tax cuts for many. We rate McCain's statement that Obama will raise taxes to be Half True."
      =============================
McCain doesn't even care about being fair with the information he shoves down America's throats. He is not being honest; he is full on lying to accommodate his purpose of elevating himself against Obama, even if it means lying and exaggerating. How fucking stupid do you have to be to not get that? I don't see Obama reducing himself to dirty politics.
      ==============================

    72. 72

McCain, sounds desperate. McCain agreed with Bush 90% of the time, which is scary, because it shows how similar he is to Bush. Plus, throughout the whole campaign he has flipped flopped, and I also don’t like how his has made false accusation about Obama. The accusations on Obama, are false and irrelevant to the issues the country is facing.

    73. 73

"we" let things get out of hand…? not very good marketing for your campaign, mccain!!!Re: && I got a thing for you! – so who you voting for? if you're not voting for either of these 2 people, you might as well not vote at all.

    74. 74

…he is failing because he was following Bush. He voted for Bush's policies the vast majority of the time. Now that he sees the majority are so fucking over the mismanagement and damage the current administration has caused, he is back peddling to get elected. I hope it doesn't work, but there are many assholes out there who voted him in for a second term. McCain could still win.

    75. 75

Saturday Night Live's sketch of George W. Bush's endorsement of John McCain contained these lines:

John was there for me 90% of the time over the last eight years. When you think of John McCain, think of me, George W. Bush… A vote for John McCain is a vote for George W. Bush.

The sketch is hilarious–but I can't think of a truer or better warning for every voter on November 4th.

    76. 76

He stood with Bush on all of these fuck ups. So i guess that makes him a fuck up too. So explain to me how more of the same will fix the problem. Obama for president. White rednecks get used to it . The face of America is changing and it wont look like John Mcain.

Poor desperate McCain. He's almost as desperate as Mansiton. Almost. George W. was a complete failure and John McCain is a complete failure. I can still hear him saying "our economy is strong!" and then 2 weeks later the bottom fell out. What an out-of-touch old fuck.

Of course this doesn't stp obama from telling the big lie thatthere is "not an inch of difference between Bush and McCain". But there is a big diffrence between MCCain and Obama. Obama wants to redistribute the wealth for the productive to the non-productive and "fix" the Constitution. See Truth According To T o m
