Howard Stern Rest Stop Closed Down

Howard Stern's rest stop along I-295 in New Jersey is being shut down.
The rest stop was named after the radio shock jock when he gave his endorsement for Christie Whitman during the 1993 gubernatorial campaign. She had promised that a plaque inscribed with his name would be placed at the stop in return for his support. She made good on it.
Motorists passing by were apparently using the facility for more than a pit stop, though.
Couples were found boning in the bathrooms, calling for the close of the rest stop.
State officials are saying otherwise, blaming the recession for being unable to maintain the facilities.
Yup, it's a sign of the times when horny travelers can't afford an hourly motel room!

omg omg omg ok there is a rest stop in cali right outside fresno i don't know for sure what goes on there but, ok there will be young men sitting on the picnic tables right in fron of the parking stalls and you see cars pull up park sit there for a minute then flash their lights in front of one of the guys…..then the person gets in the car and they drive to the end of the road which is 1/4 away from the parking area. I thought it might be just a coincidence but I seen it more once. I wrote my local news channel and told the story but I soon moved away and don't know the outcome. Some freaky shit was going on there.

If people knew how many germs, bacteria, and other disgusting shit were really on the surfaces in public restrooms, they wouldn't be so quick to bone in there. It's disgusting really. But working in healthcare for 6 years has made me a bit of a germaphobe.

Also, he wants to raise taxes on Capital Gains…well news flash, the stock market is in the crapper. Investors are scared to put money back in the market and they have a valid fear of losing their money. So if on top of that, you tell them that if they happen to invest and make a gain they will get taxed higher. With his economic plan, He's not giving incentives to the investor. I can remember when Howard first learned that Governor Christie Whitman had named a rest stop for him; he was SO delighted. It's too bad the place has become a den of iniquity…perhaps someone can find a more appropriate place to name after Howard and Beth Stern.

Re: douchenozzle – On 295 there's a "Scenic Overlook" just a few miles from the rest stop. Believe me, that's where the McGreevy fans go. The site was busted a few times, but it's funny, you'll always see cars, but no one is ever looking at the view.
Lol, I take I-295 EVERY DAY, to work, to school, everywhere. Its the only way to get around, around here. WTF? Where the hell is the Howard Stern Reststop? I'm disappointed I didn't know about it!
